5 of the Most Reliable Ferrari Models
Older Ferraris are known to be unreliable. However, not all cars that don the Prancing Horse emblem are going to break down at any second. And although repairs and maintenance can cost an arm and leg, the driving experience is worth the cost. In case you’re in the market for a reliable used Ferrari, you may want to consider the following five models.
1. Ferrari 328 GTB
According to Vehicle Help, the Ferrari 328 GTB was the “last of the ‘analog’ Ferraris, which are easy to service, cheap to run, and do not need to drop the engine when working on it.” The Ferrari 328 was powered by a super-reliable Dino 3.2-liter V8, which proved to be more reliable than the engines that came before it. In fact, the Ferrari 328 was so reliable that it is considered one of the most reliable models from the Italian automaker to this day.
2. Ferrari 360 Modena
The Ferrari 360 Modena is arguably one of the most recognizable and popular models the automaker has ever produced. It was named after Enzo Ferrari’s hometown and is considered one of the most comfortable and daily drivable Prancing Horse models ever produced. Powering the 360 Modena is a 3.6-liter V8 engine that proved to be reliable and high-performing.
The 360 Modena’s engine was paired could be paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or an F1-inspired electrohydraulic-actuated automatic transmission. Of course, the former was the preferred choice.
3. Ferrari F430
The Ferrari F430 replaced the 360 Modena. It was fitted with a mid-mounted 4.3-liter V8 engine that was not only powerful with its 490 hp, but it was also reliable and cheaper to service. Vehicle Help notes that the F430’s engine did not need a timing belt and the most common complaint engine-wise is the exhaust manifolds cracking. That’s still a cost repair, but it doesn’t happen every day.
4. Ferrari California
Aside from enthusiasts calling the Ferrari California “not a true Ferrari,” its only major issue is faulty airbags. That’s a pretty major issue. However, once remedied, the Ferrari California has proven to be very reliable. In that case, California owners should be able to enjoy years of happy motoring with the car’s 460-hp engine and retractable roof. As an added plus, the car even has rear seats.
5. Ferrari SF90 Stradale
The Ferrari SF90 Stradale is one of the most powerful hybrid cars that you can buy. It’s powered by a 4.0-liter turbocharged, mid-mounted V8 engine that’s paired with a trio of electric motors. Altogether, the powertrain setup puts out a staggering 986 hp. That’s impressive. But what’s even more impressive is that the SF90 Stradale hasn’t had any recalls, and you’ll have a hard time finding any reliability issues as well.
