A luxury car is not out of your reach if you are on a budget. You simply buy one that is used. iSeeCars has recently released an article about reliable used luxury cars you can purchase for under $20,000. 

1. 2014 Lexus ES 350 

The Lexus ES 350 is actually No.2 on iSeeCars list of 10 most reliable luxury cars and has the same reliability score as the Lexus IS 350. Both have a reliability score of 8.9. The main reason the ES 350 is in second place isn’t clear, but either vehicle will serve you well. 

The 2014 model is the top used luxury vehicle on the list of used luxury vehicles for under $20,000. Many of these models have less than 100,000 miles, and several are even below 50,000 miles.

The average price for a new Lexus ES 350 is $41,340 to $50,130. If you’re in the market for a used model that is three years old, then the price is $42,058. The 2014 model costs $19,798.

2. 2014 BMW 5 Series

The BMW 5 Series came in sixth place on the overall list of top 10 reliable luxury cars. It has a score of 8.7 which actually ties it with several other vehicles like the Volvo S60.

New BMW 5 Series cost around $54,800 to $79,900, while vehicles three years old cost $46,175. The 2014 model costs only $18,879. Many cost much less than this, but this is due to the fact that they have high mileage.

Even though the BMW 5 Series is cheaper than other used luxury cars, it’s important to note that they can be expensive to repair. The maintenance costs are also very high, so take this into consideration if you’re considering buying one.

3. 2014 Audi A6

The Audi A6 did not make the list of top reliable luxury vehicles, but you shouldn’t let this turn you away. The luxury car segment is rather crowded, so there are many great vehicles that couldn’t be featured.

Many 2014 Audi A6 models have very high mileage, which is well over 150,000 miles. Most are also well below the average used car price of $19,061, so you need to be careful about which you buy. 

A CarFax report can give you detailed information about the car, such as if it’s been in a wreck, how many owners it’s had, and some even include if it’s had regular maintenance. Asking for this before you actually purchase can help you figure out if this is the car you want to invest your money in.

4. 2014 Audi TTS

Like the Audi A6, the TTS doesn’t make the list of the most reliable luxury cars. With that being said, it’s still a stellar car you should check out if you’re interested in a used luxury vehicle.

It has an average price of $19,958, making it slightly more expensive than the A6. It has sharp looks, stellar driving performance, and decent tech, given that it is nine years old. 

5. 2014 BMW 3 Series

The BMW 3 Series was ranked in seventh place on iSeeCar’s list of most reliable luxury vehicles. New models cost around $42,300 to $56,850, while models that are three years old cost $42,224. The 2014 BMW 3 Series has an average price tag of $18,129.

You should be wary of buying later models, however. Consumer Reports gave the 2011 to 2013 models the never buy label. The 2014 model doesn’t fall into this category, but it’s a good idea to have a mechanic examine it closely. Also, try to buy one that has lower mileage.
