You can see and talk to your friends

The Honda Odyssey was outfitted with the CabinWatch and CabinTalk technologies when it was redesigned a few years back. The CabinWatch technology offers a bird’s-eye-view of the rear cabin right on the infotainment screen and the CabinTalk feature allows the driver to talk to occupants in the second and third rows, kind of like an intercom.

Ideally, these two features were put in place so that the parents in the front row can keep an eye on, and talk, to their kids that are sitting behind them. However, if you’re a single person, you can pack those back seats with your friends and give each one special attention while on a lengthy road trip, or just for fun.

Your rear-seat passengers can be entertained

If you opt for the Odyssey Touring trim level, then your kids will be entertained by the Advanced Rear Entertainment System with a 10.2-inch, Blu-Ray player, and built-in streaming apps. But if you don’t have kids, then your friends will be just as entertained when you throw on a good movie to keep them occupied. It’s a good time to dust of those old Blu-Ray DVDs that you never use anymore.

A huge amount of cargo space

If you need room to haul stuff, then you’re in luck with the Honda Odyssey. Unlike a truck with a short bed or a crossover SUV, the Odyssey has a cavernous cargo area that can be fully utilized when you take out the second-row seats and fold down the third row. In fact, with a total of 155.4 cubic feet of space, don’t be surprised if your buddies ask you to help them move.

You can even clean up after your friends

The Honda Odyssey is available with a HondaVac system, which is a really long vacuum hose that resides behind the third row. It’s intended to provide a handy way to clean up after your kids when they leave a mess, however, we all know that adults can be just as messy. No worries! Just push the power button on the vacuum and you’ll be able to clean up all of the pumpkin seeds and crumbs that your clumsy buddies left behind after that road trip to Vegas.

It’s comfortable and quiet

Speaking of road trips, we personally feel that minivans are definitely the best vehicles for a long journey and the Honda Odyssey is no exception. In fact, it’s so comfortable that you and your friends will enjoy sitting in its leather-trimmed seats for hours and never get tired of how easy it is to get in out of the van thanks to its power-sliding rear doors as well load and unload it with its hands-free power tailgate. What’s more, the 280-hp, 3.5-liter V6 is buttery smooth and fairly fuel-efficient (19 city/28 highway mpg).
