5 Reasons the Ford F-150 Raptor Is Better Than the RAM Rebel

Let’s face it, it’s really tough to beat the Ford F-150 Raptor when it comes to finding a production off-road-ready truck. Let’s face it, it’s really tough to beat the Ford F-150 Raptor when it comes to finding a production off-road-ready truck. Although, there is one truck that could possibly be better than the Raptor: the RAM Rebel. It’s cheaper, has a strong V8 engine, and is available with some handy storage solutions, but anyone that’s really going to take their truck off-road knows that the F-150 Raptor is the way to go. In case you need more convincing, here are five ways in which the Ford F-150 Raptor beats the RAM Rebel in the off-road truck game.

It has more power

Of course, we had to start off with the power differential between the two trucks. Sure, the RAM Rebel can be optioned up with a stout V8 engine with a nifty mild-hybrid system, but you can’t beat the F-150 Raptor’s twin-turbo V6. Just to reiterate, this 3.5-liter V6 engine produces a staggering 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque, which is 55 more horsepower than the RAM’s biggest engine and 100 more lb-ft of torque!

It has a better suspension

The RAM Rebel might have a nice, comfortable air suspension that is capable of driving through some bumpy terrain, but Ford F-150 Raptor’s Fox Racing shocks with live-valve technology is simply second-to-none. Want to go off some sweet jumps? No problem! These shocks have you covered as they adjust automatically to the road ahead of you.

A sportier interior

Sure, the RAM Rebel has a nice infotainment system and a bunch of red trim. But who needs any of that when you can opt for the F-150 Raptor’s carbon-fiber treatment? On top of that, you’ll get Recaro seats, a B&O Play premium sound system, and Inflatable seat belts for extra safety.

More aggressive looks

If you’re going to act the part, then you better look the part, and the F-150 Raptor does just that. While the RAM Rebel does look sporty, the F-150 Raptor’s updated exterior looks downright menacing in comparison. With its meaty tires, large Ford grille, and bumper vents, the Raptor looks it’s ready to play, no matter what kind of terrain you plan to put it through.

Trail Control

Brute power and a live suspension should be enough to get the F-150 Raptor through just about anything. But for the really rocky stuff, or if you just want to let the truck do its thing, you can use the Trail Control feature. With this feature on, the F-150 Raptor will crawl its way through those rocky obstacles while maintaining the speed you set it at. It’s like cruise control for the off-road; just set it and take care of the steering duties.

It’s good to be the king

There are definitely a lot of redeeming qualities to both trucks and we’re sure that the RAM Rebel can hold some stiff competition when going toe-to-toe with the Ford F-150 Raptor. But there’s still no denying that the Raptor holds its own when it comes to being the one of the best, if not the best, choices when it comes to selecting an off-road capable truck. In that case, it’s good to be the king of the off-road terrain!
