5 Things to Know Before Buying an Aventon Pace 500
Whether you’re new to the e-bike world or an advanced rider, the Aventon Pace 500 has you covered. The Pace 500 has all of the features most riders are looking for, including an 8-speed shifter, a cruiser frame, and a great battery with a long life. In case you’re in the market for one, here are five things that you should know before pulling the trigger on an Aventon Pace 500.
1. The Aventon Pace 500 is available in two different sizes
People come in all different shapes and sizes; fortunately, so does the Aventon Pace 500. Well, kind of. It actually comes in two different sizes – regular and large. The regular size is fit for adults that are 5 feet, 1 inch to 5 feet, 11 inches tall, while the large size is for adults up to as tall as 6 feet, 4 inches. So if you’re tall or short, don’t worry; one of these Pace 500 sizes will likely fit you.
2. Assembling the Pace 500 is easy and straightforward
If you purchase an Aventon Pace 500, then be warned that some assembly is required. You mainly need to install the handlebar, the saddle, pedals, and the front wheel, but it can be a little time-consuming. It took us around 30 minutes to get the e-bike out of the box and put it all together. It’s not hard, but it can prove to be a little tedious.
3. The Pace 500 is a Class 3 electric bike
In case you didn’t know, there are three different classes of e-bikes. Class 1 is for e-bikes with a top speed of up to 20 mph. Class 2 electric bikes are the same as Class 1, but with the addition of a throttle that powers the bike without pedaling. Class 3 e-bikes are those that travel up to 28 mph and have a throttle (in some states).
That being said, it’s worth noting that the Pace 500 is a Class 3 e-bike because it can go up to 28 mph when being pedaled and has an electric throttle. We have to say, it’s nice having both.
4. The Aventon Pace 500 has an 8-speed shifter
More advanced riders that like being able to shift gears on different grades and terrains will like that the Pace 500 comes with an 8-speed shifter. To be honest, we’re not too keen on shifting, especially on a normal road bike, so leaving it in third gear seems to be the best move. Regardless, the electric motor kicks in no matter which gear you’re in, so you can technically just coast without doing much work.
If you would rather not have to deal with gears, then we recommend the single-speed Aventon Solterra.
5. The Pace 500 e-bike is the only Aventon model with an adjustable stem
If you want full adjustability of your e-bike, then the Pace 500 is where it’s at. In fact, this is the only bike in Aventon’s line with an adjustable stem so that you can get the handlebar right for your height. Also, the seat adjusts easily, so raising or lowering yourself is a breeze.
The Aventon Pace 500 is a great choice for e-bike shoppers
It doesn’t matter if you’re an advanced rider or are just starting out; the Aventon Pace 500 is a great choice. It has all of the components you need and the comfort you want. Best of all, it retails for $1,699, so it’s relatively affordable.
