5 Things to Know Before Buying an Aventon Soltera Electric Bike
The Aventon Soltera is one of the most affordable and lightweight electric bikes currently on the market. Of course, with so many different e-bikes in the same price range, it can be hard to choose the right one for you. In case you’re looking into the Soltera and are wondering whether or not it’s worth the $1,199 price of entry, here are five things to know before pulling the trigger on the Soltera.
1. The Aventon Soltera comes in two different sizes and speeds
Whether you’re a biking purist or a complete beginner, you’ll be happy to know that there’s an Aventon Soltera for you. The bike comes in a “regular” and “large” size to fit riders from 5’1” up to 6’4”. Just to note, I’m 5 feet, 8 inches tall and the regular size fits me well. So, if you’re taller than six feet, then the larger size would likely be better.
Additionally, the Soltera is offered in either a single-speed or a seven-speed configuration if you like shift gears. My tester was of the single-speed variety which made it very easy to use for a beginner.
2. You’ll need to assemble the Soltera, but it’s an easy process
When the Soltera arrived, it came in a huge box that I had to shimmy into my apartment. Once I got it in and emptied the contents, the build process was pretty straightforward. If you plan to buy the Soltera, just know that it will take around 30 minutes to put it together, but if you follow the directions, then it should come together nicely.
3. The Soltera is light enough to carry upstairs
My apartment is situated on the third floor of my complex, which means that in order to ride the Soltera, I have to get a pre-workout in by carrying it downstairs. Fortunately, it’s no sweat since the Soltera only weighs 41 pounds, battery and all.
4. The Aventon Soltera is a Class 2 electric bike
In addition to having an electric pedal assist feature, the Anventon Soltera also has an electric throttle. That means that it classifies as a Class 2 electric bike as it has a top speed of 20 mph and two different electric-assist functions. In case you need to convert it to a Level 1, you can do so by removing the electronic throttle.
5. Aventon’s app pairs easily with the Soltera
You download the Aventon app on your compatible Android or Apple phone in order to log your rides. The app syncs up to the bike and shows you pertinent information like its current charge, mileage, and even your calories burned. It’s easy to use and comes in handy when you want to know information, but are not near the bike.
The Aventon Soltera doesn’t disappoint
Admittedly, I was a little skeptical about electric bikes when the Aventon Soltera arrived at my doorstep. However, after getting familiar with the bike and riding it for some time, I fully understand the hype of the micromobility cruisers.
If you just need to get around town or have a short commute to work that doesn’t necessitate a car, then the Soltera definitely will not disappoint you. Also, you likely won’t have any buying regrets with the fair price that you’ll pay for it.
