These 5 Upcoming 2025 Cars Are Worth Waiting For
We may be just partway through 2023, but that doesn’t mean we can’t peer into the looking glass. While most automakers’ 2024 lineups are set, there are some new 2025 cars that may be worth waiting for.
2025 BMW M2 CS
The latest BMW M2 has more power than the previous model. However, it’s list of upgrades ends there. Because it is bigger and heavier than the old car, it posts nearly identical performance numbers in the real world. But the upcoming BMW M2 CS may change all that.
Much like the previous BMW M2 CS and Competition models, expect to see more power from the updated Bimmer. In addition, the 2025 version of this car will likely be lighter, feature sharper handling, and have a wealth of carbon fiber aerodynamic bits.
Early spy shots show an integrated rear trunk lip, but so far the company remains quiet on its exact plans.
2025 Chevy Corvette Zora
The sci-fi name aside, the 2025 Corvette Zora is going to be the most raucous ‘Vette yet. By combining the ferocious power of the upcoming Corvette ZR-1 with the E-Ray’s electric powertrain and the Zora will be flirting with a four-figure horsepower number, per Jalopnik. And while 1,000 horsepower is impressive, this 2025 electric supercar will approach 1.9-second zero to 60mph runs with all-wheel drive punch.
2025 Porsche 718 EV
The current Porsche 718 is one of the best cars to drive, but it’s time as a gas-powered sports car are numbered. Per Porsche, the next generation of 718 Cayman and Boxster models will be EVs. Porsche plans to bring a 450-horsepower electric powertrain and sub-4,000-pound curb weight to the equation, so there’s no doubt the new 718 will be quick.
Right now, the 718’s appeal is Porsche engineering and its unique style. Both of those will change massively with a switch to electric power, so time will tell if the move is a hit with the brand’s established fans.
2025 Corvette SUV
Ferrari has an SUV now, joining the ranks of Porsche, Lamborghini, and Bentley. Now it’s Corvette’s turn. Rumors of a new Corvette SUV are coming to fruition for the 2025 model year, and it should be a hit as soon as it shows up.
If the Urus and Purosangue are any indication, Chevrolet will sell every Corvette SUV they make. The only real question is – what will they stuff under the hood?
2025 Toyota Camry
So far the cars on this list have been high-performance sports cars, but even the humble Camry is a car worth waiting for until 2025. The current Camry has been kicking around since 2017, so it was beyond time for an update. Normally, a new-gen Camry would be a fairly mundane event. But, based on Toyota’s recent Prius and Crown updates, we expect the 2025 Camry to be radically different.
So far, all of Toyota’s updates have been big hits, so can the ever-popular Camry continue that trend in 2025? We’ll find out in the fourth-quarter of 2023, when the Japanese automaker is expected to give us the goods.
