6 New Electric SUVs Coming in 2024 From Chevrolet, Buick, and Cadillac
GM is all-in on its EV production quest, with six all-new electric SUVs arriving in 2024. Some are already being made to stock up for release in early 2024. EV sales have been slow but steady, and now it’s time to put up as the ramp-up to an EV-only future commences. GM is by far bringing out the most EVs in 2024, so let’s take a look.
2024 Buick electric SUV
Buick Crossover
We don’t know its name, but Buick will have its first EV, a crossover, coming in 2024. And it might already be selling in China, as the Electra E4, though Buick says it is China only. GM isn’t confirming, but it is likely that we’ll be seeing a slightly larger E5, also in China.
Automotive News says, at least into the foreseeable future, Buick won’t make EVs in the U.S., so the E5 will likely be coming here as an import from China. Buick already has this type of arrangement with its Chinese-built Envision crossover.
2024 Cadillac electric SUVs
Cadillac Escalade IQ
Calling it a 2025 model, Cadillac’s Escalade IQ is a large three-row, seven-passenger EV SUV with a larger price tag of $130,000. Coming later in 2024, the IQ is also heavy, with estimates of around 9,000 lbs. It has a tow rating of 8,000 lbs. It is joining the Cadillac Lyriq EV sometime in 2024.
The IQ boasts a 450-mile range and zero to 60 times under five seconds with 750 hp. It rides on the same Ultium platform as the GMC Hummer and Chevrolet Silverado EVs. With a 55-inch wide screen dominating the dash, it features plush seating and lush appointments. Production begins in September 2024.
Cadillac Celestiq
This is more of a cross between a gigantic sedan and an SUV, so we’ll call it an EV SUV. Coming standard with dual motors, it packs 600 hp and all-wheel drive. Cadillac is advertising a range of 300 miles. Interestingly, it will utilize 115 3D-print parts. Pricing starts at $340,000, and no, that is not a misprint.
2024 Chevrolet electric SUVs
Chevrolet Blazer EV
You will soon be seeing 2024 Blazer EVs as production has already begun. MotorBiscuit has several posts on the SUV, its performance numbers, and options. Starting at $51,800, it is one of GM’s mid-range EVs to compete with Tesla.
Chevrolet Bolt EV
Speaking of the Bolt, it is ending production before the end of the year. But GM says an Ultium battery version is coming in 2024. Interestingly, GM finds Bolt buyers stick with GM vehicles once they turn in their EVs. So Chevrolet now has an even more compelling reason to ramp up new Bolt development quickly.
Chevrolet Equinox EV
The gas-powered Equinox has been one of Chevrolet’s best-selling vehicles and will continue alongside its EV version. Notwithstanding the on-again, off-again Chevrolet Bolt, this is GM’s lowest-price EV at $30,000 for the base LT version. For that price, one gets 250 miles of range, though higher trims have ranges up to 300 miles. Both front-wheel and all-wheel drive models will be available.
