1. The 2022 Toyota RAV4 Prime

Price: $39,800 | 94 MPGe combined

The Toyota RAV4 Prime is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, also known as a PHEV. These models come equipped with standard all-wheel drive and get an electric-only range of 42 miles. Inside, there is room for five and it boasts comfortable seating, making it the perfect road trip companion.

2. The 2022 Toyota Highlander Hybrid

Price: $39,055 | 36/35 mpg city/highway

The 2022 Toyota Highlander Hybrid was the winner of the 2022 Best Hybrid and Electric SUV for Families award by U.S News. It does feature three rows of seating, making it a great option for growing families. Plus, it ranked well in crash tests and comes loaded with advanced safety features.

3. The 2022 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid

Price: $35,845 | 90 MPGe combined

Another PHEV, the Crosstrek Hybrid gets good fuel economy and comes standard with all-wheel drive. It achieves 17 miles of electric-only driving range. Standard features with these models include heated front seats, leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a touch-screen infotainment system for added entertainment.

4. 2022 Lexus UX Hybrid

Price: $35,350 | 41/38 mpg city/highway

The Lexus UX Hybrid is the most affordable luxury hybrid crossover you can find today. These models come equipped with all-wheel drive and a comfortable interior, but the hybrid powertrain isn’t the quickest. 

5. The 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid

Price: $34,300 | 36/31 mpg city/highway

The Santa Fe Hybrid has some strong powertrain options and standard all-wheel drive. If you can splurge, though, the Santa Fe is available in a PHEV configuration. They start at around $40,000, but they deliver 30 miles of electric-only driving range and 76 MPGe.

6. The 2022 Kia Sorento Hybrid

Price $34,090 | 39/35 mpg city/highway

Just like the Santa Fe Hybrid mentioned above, you can find the Kia Sorento in conventional and plug-in hybrid configurations. These models come equipped with three rows of seating and plenty of cargo space. The PHEV version offers 32 miles of electric range and returns 79 MPGe.

7. The 2022 Toyota Venza

The Toyota Venza recently came back for the 2021 model year. Although it’s not rated for towing, it’s an upscale midsize SUV that’s perfect if you’re just getting into hybrid vehicles. Of course, it comes with a collection of cutting-edge safety technologies.
