2. 2022 Audi e-tron GT

Even though the Audi e-tron GT is the most expensive sports car model on the list, this all-electric sedan brings a lot to the table. According to U.S News, “All models come with two electric motors and a two-speed automatic transmission. While the base e-tron GT makes 469 horsepower, the RS model produces up to 637 horsepower with launch control boost.” Additionally, the 0 to 60 mph time of 3.1 seconds is pretty impressive.

3. 2022 Ford Mustang

The 2022 Ford Mustang muscle car is big on performance, and the lineup includes some of the most powerful V8 engines on the market. The best fuel economy option is the base four-cylinder engine. This turbocharged 2.3-liter engine delivers 310 horsepower and can get up to 22 mpg city and 32 mpg highway with an automatic transmission.

4. 2022 Subaru BRZ

If you’re a Subaru fan who craves performance behind the wheel, you’ll probably love the Subaru BRZ sports car. Equipped with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, the BRZ travels from 0 to 60 mph in only 6 seconds. It also features excellent handling and its best fuel economy ratings when paired with an automatic transmission.

5. 2022 Volkswagen GTI

$29,880 | 24/34 mpg city/highway

The 2022 Volkswagen GTI has a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers an incredible 241 horsepower. It gets 24 mpg in the city and 34 mpg highway. Combine all these performance features with powerful brakes, and you’ll have a one-of-a-kind sports car ‘hot’ hatch on your hands.

6. 2022 BMW Z4

Surprisingly, the Toyota Supra and BMW Z4 sports cars have similarities. The entry-level sDrive30i turbocharged four-cylinder engine has fuel economy ratings of 25 mpg in the city and 32 mpg out on the highway. Additionally, the Z4 features a convertible-only body style, which makes it stand out even more.

7. 2022 Mazda3

The 2022 Mazda3 is a compact car with a premium interior and excellent handling. The most fuel-efficient engine option is its 155-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder. However, if you are looking for a sportier option, you may want to consider the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with a manual transmission available with the Premium hatchback trim and build.
