The 2006 Honda Accord is an oldie but a goodie. This vintage of the Accord featured simple styling and lacked any new tech features, but it was also offered with a V6 and a manual transmission. The stout engine produced 244 hp, which equated to 0-60 mph in under six seconds. That’s quick, even by today’s standards, and it’s even more impressive that this car can fit five people comfortably.

2. 2009 Nissan Maxima — $5,000 – $8,000

Nissan revamped its Maxima flagship sedan for the 2009 model year, which included new sheet metal and a potent V6 engine. Dubbed “the four-door sports car,” the Maxima was equipped with a 290-hp V6 engine that carried a 35-hp increase over its predecessor. Unfortunately, it was not available with a manual transmission, but it did come with a CVT, which enabled it to reach 60 mph in only 5.5 seconds.

3. 2010 BMW 335i — $11,000 – $15,000

The 2010 BMW 335 was a sporty sedan that could fit five people, had plenty of tech features, and had a few different engine options to choose from. The most popular choice was a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine that produced 300 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque.

However, a less-popular but more efficient twin-turbocharged diesel was also available. That engine produced 265 hp and 425 lb-ft of torque and achieved up to 36 mpg on the highway. However, the gas engine was a better performer as it enabled the car to reach 60 mph from a stop in only 5.4 seconds.

4. 2013 Audi S6 — $15,000 – $18,000

The 2013 Audi S6 offered a good balance between technology, performance, and design. Its subtle styling was elegant inside and out. Its cabin was spacious, and it offered some key infotainment features. Most importantly, the S6 was powered by a turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine with 420 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque that was mated to a seven-speed automated manual transmission. This powerful setup got the car up to 60 mph in only 4.5 seconds.

5. 2016 Hyundai Genesis sedan 5.0 — $18,000 – $20,000

The Hyundai Genesis was a large sedan with ample room for five passengers. At the time, it competed with the likes of the Audi A6, Lexus GS, and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. It also preceded the Genesis luxury brand. However, it also won many sedan buyers over with its elegant styling and cheap price point.

That said, performance lovers weren’t led astray, either, as the Genesis 5.0 was powered by a V8 engine that produced 420 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. With that power, the Genesis could get up to 60 mph from a stop in only 4.7 seconds.

6. 2014 Chrysler 300 SRT8 — $22,000 – $26,000

If you’re more into American muscle and large sedans, the 2014 Chrysler 300 SRT8 has what you need. The 300 SRT8 offers plenty of room for five adults and a large trunk for all of their stuff. The main draw to this car, however, is the large 6.4-liter V8 engine stuffed under the hood. It puts out 470 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque, which equates to super quick 0-60 mph times of 4.7 seconds.

7. 2018 Lexus IS 350 — $28,000 to $31,000

The Lexus IS has always been heralded as a reliable and safe family sedan. The 2018 model has safety features like adaptive cruise control, auto high beams, and lane-departure warning. Above all else, the IS 350 model has a 3.5-liter V6 engine that makes 311 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque. That kind of power means the Lexus IS can scoot up to 60 mph in only 5.6 seconds.
