Not all automakers are world-renowned. Some operations contentedly fly under the radar while pursuing their passion. And sometimes, they do something so astounding it thrusts them out of obscurity. Enter the Norwegian company Zyrus Engineering.

It may be small compared to automakers like Tesla or Toyota, but Zyrus is worthy of your attention. This boutique car manufacturer takes the impressive and makes it legendary. That’s exactly what it did with a Lamborghini Huracán now coined the Zyrus LP1200 Strada.

Zyrus makes already impressive vehicles drool-worthy

Zyrus Engineering isn’t famous, but that might soon change. It all began with a group of drivers who raced Huracáns. Their passion gave them plenty of experience behind the wheel. So they parlayed it into building cars.

One thing they learned from driving Huracáns on the track was there was room for improvement. According to Zyrus, “As we saw the potential to further develop Huracáns to perform even better and more uncompromising, we transferred our knowledge and experience into building extreme editions of Super Trofeo and Performante.”

The Zyrus LP1200 Strada is mind-blowing

It’s hard to improve on a Lamborghini. Those who’ve done so know how hard it can be. From trying to figure out how to take some weight off an already light vehicle to creating an engine somehow superior to the original is no easy task. Yet Zyrus has done it with the Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo.

Zyrus made no major changes. Instead, the team rebuilt the Huracán Super Trofeo from the inside out. It took over 600 parts to accomplish the feat, but the results are unreal.

According to MotorTrend, “An Öhlins suspension setup, a race-spec Xtrac gearbox, a titanium exhaust, and carbon-ceramic brake rotors help bring this tuned Lambo within spitting distance of the Super Trofeo race car when it comes to on-track performance. A bespoke twin-turbocharger setup boosts power output from around 620 horses to a wildly unnecessary 1,200 hp just to give it a little extra oomph.”

As shocking as it is, this gorgeous vehicle is street-legal. It seems a little insane to think you could cruise down the highway in a vehicle that can harness up to 900 hp, but the dream is finally real.

There are two reasons to hate the LP1200 Strada

As insanely cool as the Zyrus LP1200 Strada is, it seems impossible there could be anything wrong with it. Yet there is. It’s far too expensive for nearly any consumer to afford.

The Zyrus LP1200 Strada costs an eye-watering $732,000. That’s not cheap by any means, and even consumers who consider themselves wealthy might wince at that price. Yes, a masterpiece is worth its high price, but the LP1200 Strada is just a dream for most.

The other reason to hate the Zyrus LP1200 Strada is that only 12 are being made. So if you have the cash and want one, you’d better start shopping now.

Oh, and those who can afford this rarity will be pleased to learn the sticker price includes a personal track-day familiarization package with the team and engineers. This just further confirms the Zyrus LP1200 Strada’s elite status. Any vehicle that requires a full day with engineers to learn how to drive it is surely one of the world’s most extraordinary cars.
