Unfortunately, cars come and go. According to Forbes, “The auto industry traditionally celebrates each new model year in early fall, as shipments of shiny new models begin to reach dealerships. Though the industry’s ongoing supply and demand issues may limit a given dealer’s leftover stock as the 2022 model year comes to an end, crafty consumers should still be able to garner some great deals on vehicles that are being discontinued.”

This year, we’ll be saying goodbye to various sedans and SUVs. If any of the models on this list grab your attention, you’ll want to act fast and get them before they are gone for good. Now, let’s see which eight vehicles are discontinued for 2023.

1. The Acura ILX

Surprisingly, the compact Acura ILX will no longer be in production, according to Forbes. Although it’s not classified as a replacement, it seems like the 2023 Acura Integra will be the new entry model in the lineup. It’s a bit sportier and made its debut back in 1986, so we’re hoping it’ll be around for a while.

2. The Acura NSX

We won’t be seeing a 2023 Acura NSX two-seater, either. No replacement is scheduled for this model either, but this isn’t the first time it’s been dropped. It originally ran between 1991 and 2005 and was brought back in 2017 as a hybrid vehicle.

3. The Buick Encore

If you’re a fan of the subcompact Buick Encore, it won’t be returning to the United States next year, according to Car and Driver. It’s not a huge shock because sales have gone down since the Encore GX hit the scene. Rumor has it that the Chevy Trax (its close relative) may also be dropped or replaced with a new model in a year or so.

4. The Chevrolet Spark

We’ll also be saying goodbye to the sub-subcompact Chevy Spark hatchback. Even though it was one of the least expensive cars you could buy, it was also one of the least powerful. It only produced 98 horsepower and came standard with roll-up windows.

5. The Ford EcoSport

Making its American debut for the 2018 model year, the Ford EcoSport will also end production this model year. Again, there has been a significant decrease in sales. In all honesty, it seems drivers are losing interest in subcompact SUVs and cars.

6. The Honda Insight

The Honda Insight, classified as a hybrid-powered compact sedan, will be dropped from the roster at the end of the 2022 model year. It was initially a two-door hybrid that sold between 1999 and 2006. Then it returned to the scene as a four-door gas/electric hatchback between 2010 and 2014.

7. The Hyundai Accent

Subcompact cars are making their way out, and there’s no hope for the Hyundai Accent, according to Car and Driver. Hyundai believes its small crossover SUV, the Venue, will be a good alternative for drivers seeking a smaller vehicle.

8. The Hyundai Ioniq

The full-electric Hyundai Ioniq was already dropped for the 2022 model year. Now, the hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions will disappear in 2023. The new Ioniq 5 compact crossover electric SUV will be taking its place and is already available for sale.
