With every new model year we reach in the automotive industry, it’s easy to give attention to new models or car manufacturers entering the market. U.S. News recently put out its list of the vehicles with the most improvements based on the previous model year.

2022 Toyota Tundra

Like a few other vehicles on this list, the Toyota Tundra got a much-needed redesign for the 2022 model year. According to U.S. News, the biggest change for the Tundra isn’t necessarily written on the body panels but rather seen under the hood, where there is an optional hybrid powertrain. With this hybrid option, the MPG improves by over 7 mpg compared to the dated V8 engine found on the previous model.

2022 Nissan Frontier

Speaking of redesigns, it is tough to imagine a truck that was more overdue for an overhaul than the Nissan Frontier. Thankfully, for the 2022 model year, the Frontier was thoroughly redesigned with a retro-inspired square body. While not much has changed for the powertrain, the dynamic styling overhaul is enough to make this one of the most improved vehicles for 2022.

2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The 2022 model year brought the full redesign of the Jeep Grand Cherokee to market, and as it enters its fifth generation, it looks like power is back on the table. The fourth-generation Grand Cherokee tended to fall into the family midsize SUV market. However, with a new interior and available luxury SUV features mixed with a hybrid powertrain option and a Trailhawk package, it looks like the Grand Cherokee is back to its off-road performance roots.

2022 Chevrolet Tahoe

When the Lexus NX was first introduced, it was a first for the company in the luxury crossover SUV market. While the previous generation was solid, it primarily emphasized its available hybrid engine and not much else. This made the NX look more like a higher-priced Toyota than a luxury Lexus SUV. With the 2022 model year, this has been resolved with a bigger emphasis on the Lexus design language. A new two-tone interior with an extensive array of improvements to the infotainment system also helps this Lexus hold a spot at the top of its class.

2023 Land Rover Range Rover

While the Range Rover lineup has been seen in the past as an overrated experience that doesn’t reflect its price tag, the 2023 Land Rover Range Rover aims to impress by adding some new styling that combines the look of the old Rover with some smoothed edges to bring this SUV into the modern age. The new Range Rover also has an optional plug-in hybrid powertrain, offering 48 miles of electric-only driving.

2022 Lexus LX

Another Lexus makes this list as the brand continues to add more luxury into the interior of its luxury SUVs. Along with other Lexus products, the infotainment system of the Lexus LX is getting a major refresh, finally shaking off the old system found on Lexus and Toyota products that made them feel years older than they were.

2022 BMW X4

BMW calls the X4 a Sports Activity Coupe, and with this name, the company aims to offer an SUV level of space with a sports coupe level of performance. So, as expected with the 2022 BMW X4, the automaker is taking steps in the right direction with more standard features and a hybrid trim option.
