The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander is here now, and it’s got some exciting features. It’s similar to the Highlander but bigger and more luxurious. However, some may wish for more upscale features than Toyota can deliver. If that is the case, here are nine more luxury large SUV alternatives that still have third-row seating for seven or more passengers.

1. Cadillac Escalade

Cadillac reports the Escalade has six trim levels, with a price range of $80,795 and $151,090. The Toyota Grand Highlander starts at $43,070, so the Escalade is nearly twice as much for the base trim. However, you get a lot for this price.

A 420-hp 6.2L V8 engine comes standard for both trims. A 3.0L Duramax® Turbo Diesel engine is available, as well as a 682-hp 6.2L Supercharged V8 DI engine for the higher trims. 

The Cadillac Escalade offers luxury features such as an HD surround vision camera, surround vision recorder which creates videos, ambient interior lighting, heated seats, and the Cadillac OLED display, which includes a 7.2″ diagonal control panel, 14.2″ diagonal cluster display, and a 16.9″ diagonal infotainment screen.

2. BMW XM

The BMW XM is a PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) with a fuel mileage rating of 46 MPGe, and a 30-mile all-electric range. It is equipped with a 4.4-liter BMW M TwinPower Turbo V-8 engine paired with a high-performance electric motor that can generate 644 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque.

Jeep has gone above and beyond with the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. The Jeep Wagoneer has a price range of $60,670 – $72,455 and is equipped with a 392 hp 5.7L V8 engine with eTorque including start/stop and a 3.0L twin-turbo inline-six. 

The Jeep Grand Wagoneer has a price range of $90,290 – $110,785 and is equipped with a 6.4L V8 or a 3.0L Hurricane twin-turbo I6. Some luxury features you can expect include McIntosh Entertainment, Amazon Fire TV Built-in, 10.25-inch passenger display, and the ability to tow up to 10,000 lbs.

4. Genesis GV80 

Aside from the Toyota Grand Highlander itself, the Genesis GV80 is one of the more affordable luxury vehicles on this list, with a range of $58,645 – $82,695. There are two engine options on the 2024 GV80. The first is a 300-hp turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, and the second is a 375-hp twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 engine.

You should know that the third row is only available on certain trims, such as the GV80 3.5T AWD with the Advanced Package. If you order the Prestige Package, you will lose the third-row seating. It has a heated steering wheel, matte finish wood trim, and leather seating surfaces.

5. Infiniti QX80

The Infiniti QX80 costs anywhere from $72,700 – $86,245. It has a 5.6 L V8 gas engine that generates 400 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque. Some trims offer Nappa leather-appointed seats, a Bose audio system, and a 12.3-inch center touchscreen. 

6. Land Rover Range Rover

The Land Rover Range Rover is one of the most expensive vehicles we’ve included on this list, with a range of $102,475 – $212,675. It’s a mild hybrid with a 3.0 L I6 engine. Additionally, some trims are available as plug-in hybrid models.

There is leather seating available in five different colors, non-leather alternatives if you’re vegan, and hot stone massage seats. According to Land Rover, a new all-electric Range Rover will soon be available, so you may want to wait to pre-order it until late 2023.

7. Lexus GX/LX

Lexus is the luxury brand for Toyota and is considered one of the most reliable luxury automakers. The GX has a starting price of $59,275 and is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6. Meanwhile, the Lexus LX starts at $92,160 and has a 3.4L V6 engine. Several options include Takanoha wood trim, heated steering wheels, and dual-screen rear entertainment.

8. Lincoln Navigator

The Lincoln Navigator is equipped with a 440-hp turbocharged V6. It has heated seating for the front and rear rows, a 13.2-inch infotainment screen, and leatherette seating. The Lincoln Navigator has a starting MSRP of $79,725, but its Black Label models start at over $100K.

9. Volvo XC90

The Volvo XC90 is available as a mild hybrid or PHEV model. It starts at $56,000 and has some very cool features like a crystal gear shifter, a panoramic roof, and ten-point massagers. The 247-hp four-cylinder engine offers a decent amount of power and has multiple upgrade options. While its interior is a bit more cramped than some of the competitors on this list, it does have one of the most refined and luxurious cabins.
