Perhaps the first obvious use for your RV while it’s sitting in your driveway or backyard is a guest suite. This expands the square footage of your home without having to hire a contractor or decorator. A bonus is that guests have their own kitchen, and being separate from the main house gives visitors the privacy of a guest cottage. 

2. Office space

Anyone who owns a business or works remotely can use a parked RV as a home office. It offers quietude away from the main house and a nice boundary between work time and personal time. The RV can be outfitted with your office supplies and give you a space to spread out for projects.

Make money in the off-season by renting out your RV. Travelers seek out listings that give them privacy and a fun and funky way to spend the night. Airbnb and Outdoorsy offer newcomers plenty of tips on succeeding in renting out spaces.

Your RV is ideal for crafting, sewing, meditating, or reading a book. Add some scented candles, string up some white lights, throw down some fluffy pillows and a comfy blanket, and you’ve got the perfect space to relax and unwind. Don’t forget an assortment of teas and hot cocoas and a kettle to make warm, comforting drinks on the stove or hotplate.

Speaking of quiet, if you have a child who plays an instrument, a parked RV makes an ideal practice space for the budding musician. Adult musicians will also appreciate the ability to hit some sour notes without everyone in the house hearing it.

If you have a business, YouTube channel, podcast, or hobby where you post videos, your RV can double as a recording studio. It creates a separate area where you can have quiet and record to your heart’s content in privacy.

To keep things simple, your RV can offer extra storage space while it’s parked in your driveway. It’s especially ideal if you’re remodeling your home. You can stuff the camper full without having to rent a storage container or move your things off-premises.
