The Chevy Blazer is getting a facelift for 2023, but cosmetic surgery isn’t cheap. That means a slight increase in the price for the new Blazer SUV. The new Blazer will get new facelift and butt lift in the refresh and eagle-eyed Blazer-watchers can spot a 2023 by the new LED headlights and taillights and new colors. On the inside, too, there are several updates that include new tech with the improved 2023 Chevy Blazer.

How much does the facelift cost on the 2023 Blazer?

For 2023, every Blazer’s price will go up by $1,000 according to GM Authority. That means the base front-wheel-drive 2LT trim Blazer that cost $34,400 plus a $1,395 destination charge. The all-wheel drive version is a $2,700 premium. The top-level Premier will now be $45,000 with all-wheel-drive and the bigger V6 option.

But, if you don’t care about the new colors and LED lights, Chevy is giving a $1,250 cash allowance on the 2022 Blazer.  Basically, every new 2023 Chevy Blazer is a 2022 with new sheet metal.

What is new on the 2023 Blazer?

The 2023 Blazer’s redesign includes the new LED headlamps, new LED daytime running lights, and new taillights. It also gets several new wheel options that now go up to 21-inches in size. The new exterior colors include Sterling Gray Metallic, Copper Bronze Metallic, and Radiant Red Tintcoat. On the inside, there’s a new 10-inch center screen and wireless charging.

We’re thrilled to see that Chevy is keeping the RS option. The RS, for Rally Sport, is a street-inspired package that brings some extra attitude to the Blazer. It comes with the new Nightshift Blue interior package.

What doesn’t change for 2023?

The Blazer still comes with Chevy’s 2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine or the 3.6-liter V6. While the 2-liter has 228 horsepower, the V6 has 308 and gets this five-passenger SUV to 60 in about six seconds flat. Unfortunately, you still have to upgrade to the RS, 3LT, or Premier trim levels to get the bigger engine.

The Blazer also keeps its spacious cargo hold. With the rear seat up it can hold 30 cubic feet of stuff, and 64.2 with the seats folded. It also keeps its built-in wi-fi hotspot, and several driver assistance and safety features, such as the Chevy Assist Package, and optional braking assistance and lane-keep assistance.

Is the Blazer a good SUV?

The Chevy Blazer name was re-introduced after a 14-year absence in 2019. The old Blazer was based on Chevy’s small truck. The new one is a unibody SUV. It’s gained a lot of fans, including Consumer Reports, recommends the 2022 Chevrolet Blazer. It has all of the modern options available you’ll want in a five-passenger SUV. Many wanted a two-door version like the 1980s version, but the aftermarket has responded to that.

The Blazer competes with SUVs like the Subaru Outback and the Toyota Venza. But, unlike those, the Blazer can be outfitted to be a quiet near-luxury luxury SUV or a sporty beast with the big V6. It beats those two SUVs with its a nine-speed automatic, good comfort, and bigger engine. However, the Venza is (slightly) known more for its reliability and the Outback may be a bit better at soft-roading than the Blazer.
