An abandoned Lamborghini Huracán LP640-4 Performante left in a parking garage is the kind of stuff we expect from billionaires in Dubai. We don’t tend to think of Canadians as the type to ditch a supercar. Alas, that is what has happened. Judging by the looks of this Lamborghini Huracán Performante, it’s been there for quite some time. 

Who would ditch a Lamborghini Huracán Performante? 

Aside from it being the baddest Lamborghini at the time, this Performante has also been customized. It has a metallic/mat red wrap and black carbon aero bits with matching black-finished five-spoke wheels.

This is clearly a car someone cared about. Why would you go through the time, money, and trouble to wrap it and add these bits of flair to an already flashy car if you weren’t quite proud of it? CarScoops even points out that although this car was abandoned, there isn’t even a car cover present.

Not really. Taking ownership of a derelict or abandoned car is a bit complicated. In this case, the parking garage owner could start the process to claim the Huracán, but it would have to go through the local authorities first. 

It hurts to see such a special car left to rot like this. Supercar.fails – an Instagram account dedicated to documenting heart-wrenching supercar situations – posted a photo on its account last week. The photos show the monster supercar parked and defanged with a thick layer of dust covering the red wrap. 

This supercar must have been sitting for many months, or more likely, years by the looks of the dust layer. After it was posted by supercar.fails with no information other than the model and that it was abandoned, a commenter claimed the Lamborghini Huracán Performante was his. He says he left it there while he was away for a while on business. While we cannot confirm nor deny this comment, it smells to high heaven of horse apples. 

What makes the Lamborghini Huracán Performante so special? 

Lamborghini made the Huracán to be another in a long line of great Italian supercars wearing the bull badge, and it was. But when Lamborghini decided to step it up, it released the Lamborghini Huracán Performante. The Performante designation means that Lamborghini added 29 hp and 30 additional torques. This bump brought the Lamborghini Huracán Performante up to 631 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque. 

More than the power, the main attraction of the Performante comes in the form of weight loss and aerodynamics. According to Car and Driver, the Performante’s weight loss results from a simplified exhaust system and wider application of Lamborghini’s Forged Composite, a resin reinforced with short, chopped carbon fibers. All that power is transmitted to all four wheels through an automatic 7-speed gearbox, allowing a 0-60 mph acceleration in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 200 mph. 

The Lamborghini Huracán Performante is a weapon. These are not the “drive up and down the strip” cars. No, these are “prepare yourself for the Thunder Dome” cars, which makes abandoning one such a strange thing to do.
