According to Edmunds, This Is the Second-Best Truck for 2023
You might be wondering what the best full-size truck of 2023 is. And according to Edmunds, that pickup would be the Ford F-150 which was redesigned back in 2021. But, when it comes to the second-best truck, things can get a little more competitive. It terms out that Edmunds has picked the Ram 1500 to be one of the better trucks that you can get in 2023.
Is the 2023 Ram 1500 a good truck?
As a full-size truck, the Ram 1500 has long been lauded for its comfortable ride and options that push this pickup into luxury territory. At the same time, when the need arises, it can still do truck stuff. Especially when you consider trims like the 2023 Ram 1500 Rebel and the recently introduced TRX package.
Of course, those who just need a work truck can get that with Ram’s pickup. It is worth noting that even the base model is a little pricey. But, according to Edmunds, the new Ram 1500 does use coil-sprung rear suspension. So, that should add to overall comfort.
This truck can get expensive fast
With great luxury can come great cost. As you climb the trim levels of this full-size truck, that is probably something that you will notice. It does seem like the 2023 Ram 1500 Rebel has a good mix of features and value. It might not be as capable as the TRX, but it does bring a lot to the table.
It comes with four-wheel drive, although if you want the V8, you will need to shell out extra dough. But, the Ram 1500 Rebel has proven itself as a capable truck. This full-size truck does come standard with a 26-gallon tank. But if you want some added driving range, the optional 33-gallon tank might be worth it.
The Ram 1500 is a worthy pickup truck
Although Edmunds has not placed the Ram 1500 over the 2023 Ford F-150, it has still earned a spot on the publication’s best truck list. Ram is a brand that is dedicated to building trucks, so it does invest quite a bit of money into its flagship pickup.
Of course, Ram does have plans to introduce an electric pickup in the future. Undoubtedly, it will go head-to-head with the Ford F-150 Lightning. Which is the Blue Oval’s take on an electric truck.
The Ram electric truck was recently shown off at the Chicago Auto Show. And it does look pretty solid, at least for now. Until it actually hits the streets, it will be hard to say how it stacks up against something like the Ford Lightning.
Don’t worry, though; it will likely be a long while before gasoline trucks are faded out of production. Simply put, most truck buyers still prefer a gasoline engine to an electric powertrain. And, those electric trucks pose a problem as they lose a fair amount of range while towing.
