Just like with a car or a home, RVs can have a wide range of prices. Even the cheapest options won’t be that cheap, as they’ll still start at thousands of dollars. Of course, at the other end of the scale, there are the ultra-luxury RVs that are as expensive as the most luxurious cars on the market. However, most RV options are somewhere in between. Still, while the purchase price of an RV is one of the most considerable costs, it’s not the only cost.

Folks looking to go on an adventure while on a budget may want to consider an affordable option such as the Casita Independence Trailer. According to Autoevolution, the Independence starts at around $30,000. There are two options, Standard and Deluxe, and the Deluxe version starts at about $33,000. 

The Independence is 17 feet long and has a durable two-piece fiberglass shell. Thanks to the way that Casita built this trailer, it’s well-insulated, and that makes it suitable for year-round adventuring. Its dry weight is around 2,400 pounds for the Deluxe version, which means that many cars should be able to tow it around. 

The Standard version has sleeping space for four, while the Deluxe has sleeping space for two. The Deluxe comes with amenities such as a fridge, a stove, and a sink. The Deluxe version also comes with an exclusive option: a wet bathroom with an integrated toilet and a shower. The Casita also has other practical features necessary for adventuring, such as a water heater, A/C, and power outlets. 

There are other good affordable options on the market too

The Casita Independence isn’t the only affordable trailer that folks can consider. Teardrop trailers are small and light trailers that, as their name implies, have a teardrop shape. Due to their size, they are relatively affordable and can be easily towed by many vehicles. An example of a budget teardrop camper is the Colorado Teardrops Canyonland. It starts at about $15,000 and has a dry weight of just over 1,000 pounds.

Another affordable option is the Taxa Outdoors TigerMoth camper trailer. It has a dry weight of about 1,500 pounds and starts at about $25,000. Both the Canyonland and the TigerMoth are cheaper options than the Independence but have some notable drawbacks. Due to their smaller size, they won’t have as many amenities as the Independence. They also won’t be able to accommodate as many campers as the Casita can.
