AI is roasting cars on the internet— and people love it
Artificial Intelligence is a rapidly evolving technology and the masses are using it for everything. From helping with assignments and presentations to generating admittedly cringy images, AI is everywhere. Hilariously, enthusiasts are using ChatGPT, an AI platform, to roast their cars. Oh, and the results? Nothing short of hysterical.
ChatGPT is using its AI to roast cars and the results are simply spectacular
ChatGPT was one of the first breakthroughs in consumer-facing artificial intelligence (AI) applications. Punch in a prompt or a request, and in moments, you have a solution. In fact, you could tell it to write you a song about llamas, and ChatGPT would oblige. However, car enthusiasts have found a different use for the application. They ask the AI to roast their cars.
Now, a roast is a personal and pointed indictment of a subject, typically a friend or celebrity. For instance, Comedy Central has hosted roasts for over 20 years. In a Comedy Central roast, a guest of honor sits front-row center while a panel of “roasters” make fun of their appearance, their work, their hobbies, and the list continues. What these vehicle owners are doing with AI is similar. They give ChatGPT a picture of their car and prompt it with the magic words “roast my car.”
I decided to give it a try and the results were hilarious. See, I have a project 1967 Chevrolet Camaro, a car near and dear to my heart. So, I reluctantly prompted ChatGPT to tear her down. Upon prompting it, the AI asked me if I was sure my engine wasn’t a glorified paperweight. Ouch. Although I may have been spared a much more scathing review.
In another instance, a fellow car enthusiast in my neck of the woods propositioned the AI to roast one of my favorite modern cars: the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio. Despite the Giulia Quadrifoglio’s addictive 505-horsepower turbocharged V6 and stylish aesthetic, the AI application went right for the throat.
ChatGPT told him that his gold paint scheme was reminiscent of dipping something in mustard. Oh, and Alfa Romeo’s iconic triangular grille? AI told him that it was the automotive equivalent of a “hipster mustache.” Target destroyed.
Don’t believe it? Try it yourself. You might love what you get. That, or have your buddy’s car roasted. You’re welcome.
