We are fine with admitting that we feel left out. As Jeep Renegade fans, we can’t even attend its 10th anniversary party because it was pulled from the United States and Canada. Perhaps we can celebrate the 2024 Jeep Renegade in Mexico. See what we’re missing out on.
Is the Jeep Renegade worth buying?
Yes, the Jeep Renegade is an excellent compact SUV to consider. It’s distinctive, athletic, and engaging. Plus, the Trailhawk model is the most capable off-roader in its class with 8.7 inches of ground clearance and 4×4 low.
However, the Renegade was discontinued in the United States and Canada due to declining sales, despite doing better than the new Dodge Hornet. In fact, it had nearly double the sales.
This is a surprise because the Renegade is a global success as it celebrates its 10th anniversary. It debuted in 2014 and quickly became available in over 100 markets around the world. The Renegade has moved nearly 2,000,000 models.
But it’s most popular in Brazil and Europe. This is also where it received more love while being neglected and battered by rising prices in America.
In Brazil, the 2023 Renegade got a mid-cycle refresh with a more aggressive style, exclusive colors, and full LED lighting. Tech upgrades include larger screens and smarter safety tech.
Europe benefits from hybrid power with the Renegade 4xe and the e-Hybrid. The 4xe has an EPA-estimated range of 31 miles on a single charge. The e-Hybrid has automatic start and stop with regenerative brakes.
The 2024 model will arrive in Mexico, Europe, and other countries soon with a refreshed style that looks more confident. The updated interior features a 7.0-inch digital gauge cluster, an 8.4-inch touchscreen, leather-trimmed seats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
In Mexico, the 2024 Renegade starts at $22,950. But in America, the 2023 Renegade has an MSRP of $27,850. So, that’s a massive price difference of $4,900.
Perhaps if pricing was lower in the United States and the Renegade got fresh looks and new tech, it would have had better sales. But no, the Renegade was completely fumbled as Stellantis pushes being more upscale, like Land Rover.
