We’re well into 2024, and as usual, truck sales are booming in the U.S. The highest-selling truck model to date is the Ford F-Series. However, the most popular truck manufacturer so far this year isn’t the Blue Oval.

The top 10 best-selling trucks in the U.S. so far in 2024 are:

10. Jeep Gladiator – 23,478 units sold

9. Nissan Frontier – 39,963 units sold

8. Chevrolet Colorado – 41,823 units sold

7. Toyota Tacoma – 69,437 units sold

6. Ford Maverick – 77,113 units sold

5. Toyota Tundra – 78,454 units sold

4. GMC Sierra – 148,785 units sold

3. Ram – 179,526 units sold

2. Chevrolet Silverado –  277,842 units sold

1. Ford F-Series – 352,406 units sold

General Motors beats out Ford in total truck sales YTD

This is because General Motors owns Chevrolet and GMC. My math came out different from Brian Mello’s. I show GM with total truck sales of 468,450 units year-to-date. That’s 38,931 more trucks than Ford.

Out of curiosity, I looked at Ford Ranger sales through July 2024 per Good Car Bad Car. Now, insiders are aware of the model’s low YTD sales. Even adding those 20,561 units doesn’t top the above-reported GM truck sales.

Of course, we still expect the F-Series to continue to be the country’s top-selling new truck through the end of the year. For overall truck sales, though, GM may take the prize.
