America’s Favorite Pickup Truck Continues to Be This Classic Ford
The pickup truck has long been one of the best selling vehicles in America. In fact, before Ford starting selling pickup trucks in 1925, many people had already been cutting the back off of their Model Ts in order to make it more versatile.
Once Henry Ford saw how much the public loved trucks, he started to invest a lot of his time in building the perfect truck. Almost a century later, Ford is still known as one of the best truck manufacturers in the world.
While there are several different pickup trucks to choose from today, Ford trucks still continue to dominate the pickup truck sector. So, which Ford truck continues to be America’s favorite pickup truck? Keep reading to find out.
How many trucks are sold in America each year?
Year after year, pickup trucks continue to dominate in sales over any other type of vehicle. According to Kelly Blue Book, an astonishing 1,415,389 trucks are sold in the U.S. every year. Out of all the trucks that are sold, the three biggest manufacturers are Ford, GM, and Ram.
According to The Drive, the top three truck manufacturers sell a combined number of 6,500 trucks a day. If you were to divide that number by the number of states in the country, you would find that every state in the country sells an average of around 130 trucks every single day.
Out of all of the trucks that are sold on a daily basis, Ford models are one of the most top-selling trucks with about 2,452 trucks sold on a daily basis. Chevrolet comes in second place with 1,935 total trucks sold and Ram is slightly behind that with a total of around 1,647 trucks sold every day.
Which classic Ford is the best-selling truck in America?
For years, the Ford F-series trucks have been the best-selling truck in the United States. The F-series was first introduced in 1948. Back then, many consumers were having a hard time finding a truck that was both rugged and durable and was able to haul heavy loads while also being able to drive on rough terrains with ease.
Ford solved this problem by introducing a truck that was built differently than any other truck on the market at that time. The truck’s powerful V8 engine and twin I-beam suspension were what made this truck so popular. People were finally able to use the truck as an actual working tool, and because of that, the popularity of the truck quickly grew to unimaginable heights.
Today, the F-series is still one of the most innovative trucks on the market. It is now built with a military-grade aluminum body and a sturdy steel box frame which makes it one of the toughest and most dependable trucks that you can find.
Not only is the F-series built better, but it is also put through rigorous testing to make sure that every truck is suitable for everyday use. The new Ford F-150, for example, was driven around the country, hauling loads and pulling cargo for at least 10 million miles before it was ever put on the market.
Is there any other truck on the market that comes close to outselling the F-series?
While no other truck on the market today is able to have the impressive amount of sale numbers that the F-series has, the Chevrolet Silverado comes in second place with selling 291,074 trucks in 2018. Ram trucks come in third place with selling a reported 233,539 trucks in 2018. In 2019, it seems like the Ram may overtake the Silverado.
While many other truck manufacturers strive to create the most impressive truck in the country, none of these trucks have come as close to hitting the mark as Ford has. The Ford F-series trucks have been a fan-favorite for decades and we predict that it will continue to be a crowd-pleaser for the next few decades as well.
