An Overwhelming Amount of Most Complained About Vehicles Are FCA
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) owns many popular brands we see here in America. Chrysler, Jeep, and Dodge to name a few. On the iSeeCars list of most complained about vehicles, there is an overwhelming amount of data for FCA. Of 10 cars and SUVs on the list, 6 of them are affiliated with FCA.
So what is it about these FCA vehicles that people are complaining so much about? Which FCA brands do we see on the list, and of those brands which vehicles are there? The FCA vehicles on the list of vehicles people file the most safety complaints for are Chrysler, Jeep, and Dodge.
The most complained about vehicle
The vehicle with the most complaints filed with the NHTSA is the Chrysler 300. The iSeeCars list shows 66.7 complaints per 10,000 vehicles sold. The Chrysler 300 takes the cake for the most complained about vehicle. According to iSeeCars, this is 2.5 times higher than average. Additionally 18 percent report electrical problems. Problems include “the car not starting or stalling while driving, dashboard gauges failing and exploding alternators.”
Jeep Grand Cherokee complaints
The Jeep Grand Cherokee, also created by FCA, is the most complained about SUV on the list. In terms of safety complaints, the NHTSA data is not looking good for the well-loved Grand Cherokee. For this FCA SUV, 63.6 complaints were filed with the NHTSA. That’s how it landed a spot on the list as the most complained about SUV.
Chrysler Town & Country complaints
This beloved minivan has received enough complaints, according to iSeeCars, to land the third spot on the list. The Chrysler Town & Country received 63.3 complaints to NHTSA for safety-related concerns. Could this have anything to do with the brand’s move to push the Chrysler Pacifica instead? We aren’t sure, but it seems like a fresh start might be a could thing for the good old Chrysler minivan.
Jeep Wrangler complaints
There were 60.9 complaints per 10,000 units. According to iSeeCars, there were a lot of Jeep Wrangler complaints about the. In fact, 17 percent of all Wrangler complaints were due to issues “such as gas spraying out from the fill neck when the tank was being filled.”
The Dodge Caravan and Grand Caravan complaints
Another FCA vehicle as well as another minivan makes the list for the top 10 most complained about vehicles. There is data for 49.6 safety complaints per 10,000 vehicles sold. The Dodge Caravan and Dodge Grand Caravan may not be the safe family haulers you’d expect.
Dodge Charger complaints
This is a fun sedan for families that want a side of race car with their child safety seats. But it’s not exactly the super safe family car some people might be looking for. The Dodge Charger made it onto the top 10 most complained about vehicles with 48.1 complaints for every 10,000 units sold.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles
Since the merger in 2014 which created the global holding “Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Group,” this company has manufactured a wide range of brands and automobiles. Many of them, like Jeep, are among the most popular. FCA manufactures quite a few good vehicles. However, they claim 6 out of 10 of the most complained about vehicles list compiled by iSeeCars. There aren’t any FCA vehicles on the comparable list for least complained about vehicles list.
