Android Auto and Apple CarPlay Get a Touch of March Madness
Whether you’re a basketball fan or not, March Madness is a time of anticipation and excitement. This year, the tournament is even more exciting than ever before thanks to the new March Madness Live App on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The app debuted on March 14—but it’s never too late to download it to your device. Let’s explore the app a bit further and see what it has to offer.
The March Madness Live app
The NCAA launched the March Madness Live app in 2011 as an easy way to watch all the games on your smartphone or tablet. It has since been updated to offer users personalized highlights, real-time updates, social media integration, and live streaming of every game.
This year’s app also offers exclusive content such as interviews with players and coaches, expert analysis of teams and matchups, and behind-the-scenes footage from inside the arena. The app is available for free on iOS and Android devices.
For safety reasons, though, you won’t be able to watch any games while you drive. But that’s alright! Since the app is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, you can listen to your favorite games while you’re on the go.
What are Apple CarPlay and Android Auto?
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto allow users to connect their devices to their car’s infotainment system and access features and apps through the display screen.
With Apple CarPlay, for example, drivers can use their voice, touch, or buttons on their car’s dashboard to access apps such as phone, music, maps, and text messaging. CarPlay can be accessed wirelessly or through a USB cable connection, and it is compatible with a wide range of models from many automakers.
Apple CarPlay is designed to make it easier and safer for drivers to use their iPhones while driving, allowing them to always keep their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel.
New Apple CarPlay generation is in the works
Apple CarPlay is getting a refresh very soon. According to Autoevolution, “Apple is working on the finishing touches for a new-generation CarPlay. Projected to debut later this year on MY 2024 vehicles, the new CarPlay will use all displays in a car. CarPlay will bring the vehicle experience in line with the iPhone, as drivers will be provided with new capabilities and a redesigned UI, including widgets.”
And just like Android Auto, Apple CarPlay will allow carmakers to customize the experience for their specific brand.
Listen to the games with the March Madness app
As you can see, there are plenty of ways to stay connected this March Madness season—whether you’re watching the games on your device or driving around town with Apple CarPlay.
So, get ready for some exciting moments with the new March Madness Live App, or stay connected while driving with CarPlay or Android Auto. Even if you aren’t a sports nut, the possibilities are endless!
