It’s rare to see the brand’s more popular sports cars, but chances are you’ve never seen Aston Martin’s One-77. In fact, Aston Martin only produced 77 of them ever, as the name might suggest. 77, in the entire world that is, not just the North American market.

The One-77 made it’s official, full debut at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show and delivery of the cars began in 2011, and since then most car enthusiasts seem to have forgotten completely about it.

What To Expect

The Aston Martin One-77 is built with a monocoque chassis made of carbon fiber composite and an aluminum chassis, weighing in at production with 3,594lbs. This design style is pretty typical of Aston Martin.

With just 77 ever produced, there was only one motor and drive train option available. The One-77 came with a 7.3L V12 motor that was completely naturally aspirated, and Aston Martin boasted that it would be the fastest naturally-aspirated car on the market at the time. Drivers could appreciate the high-end details and design of the Aston Martin’s interior while the 750hp motor is shifted by the 6 speed automated manual transmissions.

Exquisite Design

The design of the One-77 exemplifies everything you have come to love from the Aston Martin brand. The hand-formed aluminum body offers an aggressive, more aerodynamic styling the common Vantage. Running buyers around $1.87 million dollars at the time of its debut, the car’s external appearances absolutely hold up to the expectations of the price tag.

The thin taillight sweeps completely around the back of the car in one strip, mimicking the curvature of former Aston Martin models in a new, more exotic way. The quad exhaust tailpipes nestle comfortably in the rear diffuser that resonates with a melodic hum from the motor.

The car’s front end is iconically Aston Martin, with the wide ‘mouth’ grille affixed with horizontal ‘egg crate’ mesh. The bottom of the headlights curves down into an exaggerated front body line, almost like dimples around the grille’s ‘mouth’.

Driving and Owner Experience

Like many other models, Aston Martin spared no expense in the opulence and detail of the interior. As you slide your key into the ignition located centrally on the dashboard, the infotainment screen rises from the top of the dash and control buttons become beautifully lit. The interior is wrapped in lush, padded leather from the dashboard to the seats and door panels.

The car can be driven in regular or sport mode and has the option for paddle-shifting. In both regular or sport mode, the suspension absorbs every jolt and imperfection in the road, offering an exquisitely smooth drive as you accelerate or cruise. The car can comfortably go from 0 – 60 in just 3.5 seconds and handles effortlessly as it does so.

The One-77 is a fantastic example of Aston Martin’s engineering and style. While there were less than 100 ever made, the car does well to exemplify everything that the brand has to offer.
