C’mon, you know you want it, and you’ve got a chance as it is being auctioned. Elvis Presley’s own Jetstar jet. True, it hasn’t flown in decades, but look at that rich crimson velour. Oh, and it’s missing its engines and cockpit controls. But think about entertaining your friends in the King of Rock and Roll’s own jet. A Harley Electra Glide and a Lincoln limousine also owned by Elvis will be auctioned by GWS Auctions. But let’s look at the King’s Jetstar first.

How many jets did Elvis own?

First off, the minimum bid is only $100,000. That’s actually not bad. Of course, you know it will get much higher. The 1972 Lockheed Jetstar jet features distinctive graphics. But it’s the opulent crimson velvet chairs that scream Elvis. The third of three jets in the King’s fleet, both Elvis and father Vernon used it.

Elvis purchased the plane about a year before his death, so he didn’t get a lot of seat time in it. What really sets it apart from the others is the interior, which, besides the diamond tufted seats, features dark wood paneling and shag carpet. Included is a bathroom and an elaborate audio system. 

What kind of condition is the Elvis jet in?

The gold-plated accents are what you would expect in Elvis’s jet. And somewhat of a rarity in the mid-1070s, a video monitoring system. 

How much is the Elvis jet worth?

It has been for sale off and on throughout the years and hasn’t moved from its current location in Roswell, New Mexico, for over 30 years. It was purchased in 2017 for almost $500,000. Yet, it continues to sit in Roswell. The jet’s estimated value is a few million dollars. Restored, that might be its actual worth. 

These Lockheed Jetstar aircraft were fairly prolific but today they’re rare. So both the rarity and celebrity connection should boost the plane’s value at this GWS Auctions event in September. 

Where did Elvis buy this limousine?

But, there’s more. Elvis’s 1973 Lincoln Continental limousine. This was the last one the King of Rock and Roll owned. He saw it in the movie “Friday Foster” with Pam Grier and purchased it the following day. Though it had but a small part in the film, the limousine was specially customized for the movie. He had a history of driving, rather than riding, in this car for a while. 

Elvis gifted it to some RCA session people who showed up to record his next record. He wasn’t in physical shape to go through with the recording, and said, “You guys take this as payment for showing up.” This is according to Elvis’s bodyguard Al Strada. It has a minimum bid of $50,000.

Did Elvis ever use the Electra Glide?

If two wheels are Elvis are your thing, there is this 1976 Harley Davidson FLH 1200 Electra Glide. This motorcycle was the last one he purchased. It is unknown how much he used it. At the time of its first auction in 2019, it has 125 miles on the odometer. Then it sold for almost $1 million and has a current minimum bid of $100,000.
