Audi Environmental Foundation is One More Reason to Love the Brand
In today’s world, we are all becoming increasingly conscious of our environmental impact. Whether you’ve been a little more strict about recycling in your household or made the switch from gasoline-powered cars to all-electric, we all seem to be moving forward to do our part in cleaning up the environment. So, when a major luxury car brand like Audi puts their Environmental Foundation to work, it gives us just one more reason to love the Audi brand.
Audi Environmental Foundation
You, as well as many others, might be surprised to find out that Audi even has an environmental foundation. With all of the strides the manufacturer has been making in regards to becoming more environmentally friendly, it isn’t entirely shocking — Audi has made it clear that they genuinely care about the environment. The Audi Environmental Foundation teamed up with BABOR, a German cosmetic manufacturer, and everwave, a green start-up, to tackle the issue of plastic waste in rivers all over the world.
A united goal
The three organizations teamed up with one goal in mind: to help clean up the plastic and pollution that plague the waterways in so many rivers. The groups not only aim to make a significant dent in the problem but also bring the problem to the attention of the general public and hopefully making people more aware so that they can combat it on a global scale.
“Water is the basis of all life and absolutely worth protecting. Clean bodies of water, seas and rivers must be our shared priorities.”
Rüdiger Recknagel, Managing Director of the Audi Environmental Foundation
The team announced that they have several plans in place to support their cause over the next year. Actively, they have worked with CLEAN RIVERS to bring floating, passive waste bins that sift out and collect floating trash. They also plan on creating more informative campaigns around the topic and hosting clean-ups and plogging events (apparently, that’s jogging and picking up trash).
The future of the Audi brand
Audi isn’t just making an effort to improve the brand’s rapport with environmental enthusiasts. Over the next few years, the manufacturer has shown that they intend to make some major changes to their vehicles to make them more environmentally friendly. This means more electric cars and hybrid alternatives for the brand to help what we imagine will be the inevitable fade-out of gasoline-powered cars.
For such a large and widely-recognized company like Audi to step up to the plate with such an important initiative will hopefully inspire more people to become a part of the cause, and perhaps the campaign will even encourage people to participate in events or become more conscious about their waste production.
