Sometimes people don’t want all the bells and whistles that come with the Jeep Wrangler. Instead, they want a basic SUV that can tackle the wild without much fuss. Also, due to rising prices, the 2023 Jeep Wrangler is available without basic necessities to help people save.

How much does the 2023 Jeep Wrangler cost?

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler might start at about $30,000 to cover the cost of a few new features and inflation. Higher trim levels could easily pass $55,000 if you want to upgrade to the best off-roading-oriented models with all the extra amenities.

The 2023 Wrangler should come out this fall, so stay tuned with pricing updates. Until then, you can save with a basic two-door Jeep Wrangler model that doesn’t even have air conditioning. It also comes with a tiny 5.0-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 3 software.

If you need air conditioning, it costs 1,395 to add, which sounds pretty expensive. However, the package also includes a 7.0-inch touchscreen and Unconnect 4 software. So you can stay cool with a smarter infotainment system.

On a positive note, each Wrangler comes with standard four-wheel drive, but it’s a part-time system with low-gearing. You can add a full-time 4×4 system to higher trim levels.

Which Wrangler trim is best?

Unfortunately, with the 2023 Jeep Wrangler, we have to say goodbye to a few different options. According to MotorTrend, the Sport Altitude, Sahara Altitude, and High Tide trims got the ax.

We will miss the beach-themed High Tide model the most. Snazzberry and Gobi shades of paint were dropped too. But this makes room for new and exciting special editions and colors.

The entry-level 2023 Wrangler is expected to come with 17-inch wheels, fog lights, tow hooks, skid plates, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and manually cranking windows and door locks for that bare-bones feeling.

The Sport S is often considered the best Jeep Wrangler trim because it adds basic comfort features like automatic windows and AC without breaking the bank. It comes with a standard soft-top and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

It also adds alloy wheels, power locks, automatic headlights, and heated mirrors. While the 3.6-liter V6 engine with 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque comes standard, critics recommend upgrading to the 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine with 260 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque instead.

Only the standard engine can be paired with the six-speed manual transmission. The rest of the engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

What’s new for the 2023 Wrangler?

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler is expected to be primarily a carryover model from 2022. However, the Wrangler is due for a mid-cycle refresh with a slightly upgraded exterior look and fresh interior upgrades.

Stellantis could surprise us with new special editions, but we will have to wait a little longer to learn more. We already have a hybrid Wrangler with the 4xe, but we don’t have a fully electric Wrangler yet.

The Jeep Wrangler Magneto could arrive as the first Wrangler EV, allowing it to beat the electric Ford Bronco to market. Stay tuned for the latest Wrangler updates as more information arrives this fall.
