Which 2022 Ford Maverick trim is best?

The 2022 Ford Maverick will come in three different trim levels. Maverick models are standard hybrids, but Ford also offers EcoBoost powertrains. The 2022 Ford Maverick XL and XL Hybrid both start at $19,995. The XL and XLT Hybrid cost $22,280. The Maverick’s final trim, the Lariat, starts at $25,490.

The Ford Maverick XL and XL Hybrid trims come standard with an eight-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, automatic emergency braking, and stamped bed slots that make bed customization easy. The 2022 Maverick XL comes standard with a hybrid powertrain that makes a combined 191 horsepower. The 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine option makes 250 horsepower.

Ford anticipates that the hybrid gets a whopping 40 miles per gallon in the city. The EcoBoost front-wheel drive option gets 23 miles per gallon in the city. The Ford Maverick XL provides great value, but it isn’t the best Maverick trim available to consumers.

The 2022 Ford Maverick XLT is the one to buy

The 2022 Ford Maverick XLT trim is ultimately the best buy. The XLT starts at $22,280, just $2,285 more than the base model. This $2,285 difference will get you 17-inch painted aluminum wheels. It is the only trim with optional power eight-way adjustable seats and six-way manual adjustable power seats. It comes standard with a rear power outlet.

The Ford Maverick XLT trim comes with 10 bed tie-downs for the truck bed. Its truck bed includes a trim-exclusive passenger side in-bed cubby storage. The XLT trim can include most comforts that the Lariat does for a lower base price.

The Ford Maverick Lariat is also close to the Ford Ranger in price, making the XLT even more valuable because of its low starting price and many options. Little add ons such as the standard rear armrest with cupholders make the XLT the better buy over the XL. The best part about the Ford Maverick is that most of the XLT is customizable to suit your unique wants and needs.

The Ford Maverick is as barebones as Ford trucks get. The 2022 Ford Maverick XL may not have as many options, but the XLT trim offers plenty of add ons. Ford used its experience producing similar trucks like the Ford Ranger to cut costs.

The Maverick is historically cheap compared to other Ford trucks. It is the perfect way to entice hybrid lovers to buy their first truck or truck lovers to buy their first hybrid.
