Here Is the Best 2022 Honda Civic Trim To Buy According to Edmunds
The Honda Civic has been a staple in the automotive field for over 40 years and it doesn’t look like its losing steam any time soon. The Civic was redesigned for the 2022 model year and it’s so good that the editors at Edmunds even crowned it as their “Top Rated Sedan for 2022.” If you’re in the market for one, then you might be wondering which trim level is best for you. Here is what Edmunds thinks is the best 2022 Civic trim level to buy.
Which 2022 Honda Civic trim level does Edmunds recommend?
The editors at Edmunds recommend the 2022 Honda Civic EX as the best trim level. According to the publication, that particular model is the most affordable version of the car that comes with the available turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine in addition to the blind-spot monitoring system. Other notable features on the Civic EX include dual-zone auto climate control, heated front seats, and a power moonroof.
Considering everything you get with the Civic EX for a fair price of $26,365 (including the destination charge), it’s easy to see why Edmunds likes it. Out of all four of the Civic trim levels, the EX makes the most sense in terms of value for the money. However, the other trim levels could suit other budgets as well.
Is the Touring trim level worth the extra money?
For the Civic buyers with deeper pockets, the top-trim Touring could better fit the bill. For $3,600, the fully loaded version of the Civic adds on a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, navigation, and a premium Bose 12-speaker audio system. Other noteworthy features include 18-inch wheels, leather seats, an 8-way power driver’s seat, and front and rear parking sensors.
If you feel like those additional convenience features are worth the extra money, then you’ll enjoy a serene and comfortable driving experience just like we did when we reviewed the 2022 Civic Touring last year.
What about the other trim levels?
According to Edmunds, Honda is estimating that 40% of Civic buyers will gravitate toward the more affordable and racy-looking Civic Sport. And while its black wheels and trim sure do look enticing, as does its standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, Edmunds maintains that the turbocharged engine and blind-spot monitors on the EX are worth the upgrade.
However, for budget-minded buyers, there’s nothing wrong with choosing either the entry-level LX or Sport trim levels. They will just have to live with the naturally aspirated 158-hp, 2.0-liter engine. Those seeking more power could find their answer in the all-new Civic Si. That model puts out 200 hp and comes with a six-speed manual transmission. What’s even better is that it’s priced at $28,315.
No matter which 2022 Civic trim level you choose, you really can’t go wrong. The compact car’s sophisticated looks, comfortable cabin, and well-mannered driving dynamics are second-to-none in its segment. It’s no wonder Edmunds thinks so highly of it.
