The 2023 Honda HR-V is the most expensive HR-V yet, but its value justifies its price. The base model LX starts at $23,650. That’s a price increase of $1,780 from the 2022 model year. The HR-V comes in three different trim levels: the LX, Sport, and EX-L.

The Sport mid-level trim offers the most value for the money because it provides plenty of creature comfort without breaking the bank. It starts at $25,650. The 2023 HR-V Sport comes standard with heated front seats, remote engine start, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

The 2023 Honda HR-V Sport includes smart entry with walk-away auto lock, push-button start, and rear privacy glass. It also features several advanced safety and driver assistance features like adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, a lane-keeping assist system, and a road departure mitigation system. The HR-V Sport comes with a collision mitigation system and a blind spot information system.

The Honda HR-V EX-L comes with more standard features, but is it worth it?

The 2023 Honda HR-V EX-L starts at $27,450. It’s more expensive than most base model compact SUVs and much more expensive than base models in its segment. The EX-L trim tacks on an additional $3,800 to the base model’s price. Are its many standard features worth an extra $3,800?

The final HR-V trim comes standard with heated leather-trimmed seats, a one-touch power moonroof, and heated side mirrors, It also features a wireless smartphone charger, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system (the largest offered by any HR-V trim). The final trim level is also the only trim that offers an eight-speaker audio system.

The 2023 Honda HR-V provides plenty of value for its price, but ultimately, many consumers will forego the many standard features for a more affordable starting price. The biggest difference between the Sport and EX-L is tech. If you can live without heated side mirrors and a slightly larger infotainment system, then the Sport is the better buy.
