According to iSeeCars, the Nissan Armada is currently the best large SUV for the family. Keep this in mind if you need a three-row family hauler with some savings.
To determine the best value, iSeeCars analyzed new SUVs based on prices and potential lifespans. SUVs with the lowest cost per 1,000 miles during each model’s potential lifespan have the best rankings.
The 2024 Nissan Armada leads the charge with a cost of about $6,059.08 per 1,000 miles. Then the Chevrolet Tahoe comes in second place with an average cost of $6,929.51.
The Ford Expedition landed in third place with an average cost of $7,566.63 per mile and the Toyota Sequoia didn’t make it in the top five.
J.D.Power gave the 2024 Armada a reliability score of 79 out of 100, which is average. Scores between 70 and 80 are average, anything between 81 and 90 is above average, and scores between 91 and 100 are best.
The Ford Explorer earned an 82 and the Chevy Tahoe got an 81. Each large SUV is close with similar scores.
You can expect the average Armada to last about 250,000 to 300,000 miles, but a few examples have surpassed 400,000 miles. The Expedition is expected to last between 200,000 and 250,000 miles and the Tahoe should live between 250,000 to 300,000 miles.
The 2024 Armada starts with an MSRP of $56,520 and the $1,895 destination fee brings the price up to $58,415. The 2024 Expedition has a $54,600 destination fee with a $1,955 destination fee, bringing the starting price to $56,595.
Also, the 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe starts at $56,200, and the $1,995 destination fee increases the price to $58,195.
Som the Armada isn’t more affordable than other options, but it’s pretty close in price. Also, it’s expected to last longer than rivals.
