The Honda Civic Coupe takes the top spot as the best commuter car in 2022 for the sedans and coupes category. Something to keep in mind, though, is Honda discontinued the Civic Coupe in the United States following the 2020 model year. For every area, iSeeCars rates the Civic Coupe very well. It earned the highest mark for all the sedans and coupes for reliability, with a score of 9.1/10. The Civic Coupe also achieved the best possible score of 10/10 for safety. For fuel economy, the Civic Coupe averages 32.5 combined mpg. Additionally, drivers of the Civic can enjoy 42.3 inches of legroom.

Honda is well-represented on the list of best new and used sedan and coupe commuter cars. In addition to the Civic Coupe, the Civic Sedan and Accord Sedan made the list. Also, both Toyota (Prius Hatchback and Corolla) and Mazda (Mazda3 and Mazda6) have two cars on the list.

It earned the highest mark of all crossovers and SUVs for reliability, with a score of 9.2/10, along with a safety score of 10/10. The average fuel economy of the Highlander Hybrid is 28 combined mpg, and it provides 44.2 inches of legroom.

Toyota has another model on the list of best crossovers and SUVs for commuting with the RAV4. Subaru also features two models (Outback and Forester).
