It isn’t the most technology-filled offering as far as midsize SUVs go, but it does have a comfortable third row. Eight passengers fit in this Honda SUV, and its high roofline means even adults are comfortable in the third row.

Some of the safety features include antilock brakes, electronic stability control, and full-length side curtain airbags. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the 2013 Honda Pilot a four-star safety rating, making it a safe and reliable pick.

The 2010 year is one of the best used Honda Pilot versions

2010 might seem like a long time ago, but it is one of the best used Honda Pilot years in recent history. Edmunds said it offered a pleasant ride and a relatively roomy third row. Thanks to a recent redesign, the Pilot is pretty well-equipped for its age. For the cargo area, 87 cubic feet of space await buyers.

Honda included stability control and plenty of airbags to keep everyone safe. Anti-lock brakes are standard this year. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave it “good” scores on various tests. The NHTSA also awarded this SUV five-star safety ratings.

Avoid 2014 for this Honda sport utility vehicle

Even though the 2014 Honda Pilot is the newest version on this list, it also has some of the worst scores from Edmunds. While it still offers a comfortable ride and roomy third row, it is also described as “slow and cumbersome to drive.” It didn’t improve much over 2013 and was missing some crucial features its rivals include. For a 2014 vehicle, the interior was lackluster and due for an update.

Antilock brakes, traction control, and airbags are included. The Touring trim has parking sensors to make it easier. It didn’t qualify for the IIHS Top Safety Pick award but received a few “good” scores. The NHTSA gave it a variety of four and five-star ratings in its crash testing.

List Price Range: $12,999 – $28,998

At the end of the day, the best used Honda Pilot SUV is the one you can find. A low-mileage offering has the potential to last longer than one with high mileage. You likely won’t find any of these options with a warranty left, but the Pilot has a pretty solid history of being long-lasting.
