Chevrolet has been talking about its new 2024 all-electric Equinox EV for a minute now. The company has teased us with some pics, and it’s some info. But finally, it’s showing us a video that actually shows what the new 2024 Chevrolet Equinox compact SUV will look like.

Get a better look at the new 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV

In the video of the compact 2024 Equinox you can finally see the curves and some of the elements. The E in Equinox is simply three bars. It’s curvy. It has all of the requisite electric-car elements, like a smooth grille and super-small projector headlamps. You can clearly see the charge port in front of the driver’s door. It has two-tone paint, with a white roof, that visually lowers it.

The C pillar in back is a shark-like fin that echoes the sport-bar on the new electric Silverado truck. In the video at least we see taillamps light up in a horizonal stream that could also be sequential turn signals, like a Ford Mustang.

We can now get a betters sense of what the Equinox will offer

In the middle of the front grille you can see what looks like a camera, which hints at some of the driver safety aids like adaptive cruise control, the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox could have. There are also two pods that could hint at radar-cruise or be part of a 360-degree camera systems. You can also the indents for the parking sensors on the bumper and subtle turn signals on the mirrors. The door handles fit flush like on a Tesla.

Through the driver’s side window the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox appears to have a tall infotainment screen sticking up in the middle of the dash.

What we know about the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV

The 2024 Chevrolet Equinox is expected to cost about $30,000 and go head-to-head with the new Toyota bZ4X. The new SUV is expected to run on the Ultium platform, like the Cadillac Lyric and GMC Hummer EV Truck. We don’t expect the compact Equinox to have 1,000 horsepower like the Hummer, but it will likely need at least 250 to compete with the Mustang Mach-E, which has 266.

The new Equinox is expected to debut in the fall of 2023 in LT and LS trims. The current Chevy Equinox offers a street-racer-styled RS package, and we certainly hope the tuners at Chevy try that on the EV version, too.

Some dealerships are already taking pre-orders, too, for the new Equinox.

The “old” Equinox is Chevy’s best-selling compact SUV

The 2022 Chevrolet is almost identical to the GMC Terrain. Both crossovers seat five and feature GM’s 170-horsepower 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. Both can be ordered as a front-wheel-drive crossover, or with all-wheel-drive. They both come with a seven-inch touchscreen with Amazon Alexa. You can order either with wi-fi hotspots, rear vision cameras, as well as automatic emergency braking, following distance indicator, collision alert, lane keep assist and much more. The maximum cargo room, with the rear seat folded, is 63.9 cubic feet in the Equinox. The Terrain is more off-road focused, and offers an AT4 package, while the Equinox is geared more for the street and can be ordered with a the RS package.
