The Biggest 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Issue Is Only Temporary
There seems to be a slightly common issue with the Jeep Grand Cherokee. A few critics have brought it up while reviewing the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. But it’s not a dealbreaker, this problem will be corrected soon.
The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee will have software updates
It’s pretty exciting to see the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a total redesign. It matches the Jeep Grand Wagoneer and faces a similar problem. As mentioned by the team at Cars.com, the infotainment software can be glitchy.
Their team reported system lag, freezing, glitches, and the inability to connect to Apple CarPlay with or without a cable. The speed-limit warning also kept chiming. When we tested the Grand Wagoneer, the system froze a few times too.
But the new Grand Cherokee comes with Uconnect 5. Unconnect 4 is regarded as the best infotainment software out there, and the new system is supposed to be faster, look better, and be easier to use.
However, it’s not 100 percent there yet. Stellantis is working out the kinks. Once the bugs are fixed, the vehicles can receive over-the-air (OTA) updates. The glitches will be fixed before you know it.
Does the 2022 Grand Cherokee have good tech?
Yes, the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee is pretty advanced. An 8.4-inch infotainment screen is standard, but you can upgrade to a 10.1-inch screen. Appel CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, but you can upgrade to wireless connectivity.
Plus, there is an optional 10.25-inch passenger screen, built-in navigation, satellite radio, and wireless smartphone charging. The McIntosh 19-speaker premium sound system has a 17-channel amplifier and a 10-inch subwoofer.
The 10-inch full-color head-up display provides crucial driver information such as the speed limit, navigation directions, and more. You can also customize the 10.25-inch digital cluster display.
With the digital rearview mirror, you can see a high-definition view of the road. This way, headrests, passengers, and piled high cargo doesn’t block your view.
Tech makes the Grand Cherokee safer
Standard safety features include automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, and adaptive cruise control.
The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee features a 360-degree surround-view camera to help you navigate around obstacles. Plus, the parking sensors in the front and rear make parallel parking a breeze.
Check out the available night vision camera to scan for pedestrians up to 324 feet ahead. Drowsy driver detection alerts you if you seem tired or distracted.
We can’t forget about the Quadra-Lift Air Suspension that automatically lowers the suspension at highway speeds and raises it for off-roading. It can be lifted to provide 11.3 inches of ground clearance. Plus, there are three available 4×4 systems for the ultimate all-weather capability.
The Quadra-Drive II system includes an electronic limited-slip rear differential. The Grand Cherokee can ford water up to 24 inches deep.
Perhaps systems are freezing and lagging a bit for now, but that won’t be a Uconnect problem for long. The new Jeep Grand Cherokee is incredibly advanced and intuitive.
