The gritty, adrenaline-pumping world of Sons of Anarchy captivated audiences for seven seasons. While the show delivered intense drama, power struggles, and unforgettable characters, one element remained at the heart of the series—the bikes, symbolizing the freedom, power, and rebellious spirit that defined SAMCRO. Today, we rank the top 14 bikes owned by SAMCRO members, exploring how they shaped the show’s unforgettable legacy.

Although this bike resembled others on the show, its sleek black paint was hard to miss. Clay Morrow rode this iconic bike to showcase his domination over SAMCRO as a First 9 member. This classic beast features an air-cooled, 1584cc, Twin Cam 96 V-twin powerhouse mated to a six-speed manual transmission and a steel double-cradle frame, ensuring stability and durability.

SAMCRO members were big fans of Harley-Davidson, but Lincoln Potter preferred the Triumph Bonneville. The earliest version of this bike went into production in 1959, and its last generation is still going strong, thanks to its legendary performance and style. As a testament to the excellence of British motorcycles, the Bonneville attracted the eyes of fans thanks to its agility and speed.

The show’s producers wanted fans to know that Half-Sack Epps was a different breed, so they chose a White Harley-Davidson Dyna to showcase his uniqueness. His effortless ride differed from the dark Super Glide models that most SAMCRO members rode, somehow reflecting his rather friendly demeanor.

Piney Winston was the co-founder of SAMCRO, its vice president, and rode a Harley-Davidson Electra Tri-Glide. Despite his age, he was one of the most energetic characters on the show. Struggling to maintain his balance on a two-wheeled bike, the Harley-Davidson Electra Tri-Glide was the perfect choice, powered by an air-cooled 114 cu in wOHV V-twin engine that produces 100 rear wheel hp.

Harley-Davidson Road King

Besides SAMCRO, the Mayans M.C. was another club that captured the attention of the fans. Club members weren’t into the same bikes that SAMCRO’s crew rode, but Marcus Álvarez rode the Harley-Davidson Road King. It suited his character perfectly, with all its customization reflecting his rebellious nature and willingness to throw SAMCRO off its throne.

The first SAMCRO president rode an iconic 1946 Harley-Davidson Knucklehead that perfectly represented his deep roots in motorcycle culture and the old-school ethics of the original SAMCRO. Some club members mentioned that it was the bike he was riding in the accident that eventually claimed his life. It featured the third basic type of V-Twin engine produced by the company.

Many consider Alexander’ Tig’ Trager to be the most violent member of SAMCRO. So, fans were quite surprised that he managed to survive until the end of the show, especially when they often saw him crossing the limit with his 2006 Harley-Davidson Dyna Street Bob. The bike features a 1450 cc V Twin 4-stroke engine reflecting his unique nature.

To help the audience instantly recognize SAMCRO’s members, the show’s producers ensured that the Mayans would exclusively ride 1996 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softails. The same bikes were used in their spin-off show. Club members added unique touches to their bikes but were lower and usually brighter with chrome finishes than the Super Glides.

The character of Happy ‘Hap’ Lowman is played by David Labrava, a real-life outlaw motorcycle club member who decided to become an actor. Although he didn’t have many lines on the show, his FXDB Street Bob and overall presence were among the coolest. His bike features an air-cooled, 1584cc Twin Cam 96 engine and a single seat. It was sold in 2012 for charity.

Chibs Telford rode another Dyna Street Bob, but it was heavily modified, with no front fairing, matte black Z-bars, and a Saint Andrew’s Cross. Many fans liked this character, and as an ex-member of the IRA and an Irish motorbike club, Chibs made sure that his bike reflected his one-of-a-kind nature.

Opie Winston was Jax’s best friend and the son of Piney, who returned to SAMCRO as a teen. He spent much time in the garage modifying a classical Panhead that reminded him of his father. This bike features an air-cooled, OHV, 45-degree V-twin engine, but with the modifications he worked on, it could easily reach 100 mph.
