Billie Eilish’s Dodge Challenger plays well with her new limited-run Converse kicks
Even if you’re not a Billie Eilish fan, you’ve likely heard part of one of Eilish’s latest popular tracks “CHIHIRO” on social media posts far and wide. And, if you’re plugged into the collectible shoe world, you’re likely aware that Eilish has collaborated with Converse. Better yet, the new Converse x Billie Eilish All-Stars are a perfect match for the celebrity superstar’s Dodge Challenger.
Converse x Billie Eilish All-Star shoes are a throwback companion for the musician’s unapologetic Dodge Challenger muscle car
Billie Eilish’s car collection includes world-class rides spanning the luxury, performance, and muscle car segments. However, few cars in her garage are as perfect a match for her Converse collaboration as her LA-platform Dodge Challenger.
Eilish’s Dodge Challenger is a classic throwback muscle car in black. A true testament to the sort of Mopars that tore up Detroit’s street-racing scene in the 1970s. And the Converse x Billie Eilish shoes do a good job of complimenting it. Old-school high-tops wallpapered in stars bearing some of the star’s lyrics from her latest work.
Now, The U.S. Sun reports that Eilish’s Dodge Challenger isn’t your typical Pentastar V6 model or pre-facelift SRT8. No, the singer-songwriter behind bangers like “bad guy” bought an SRT Hellcat. Mind you, at this point, the Hellcat’s debut is nearly a decade past. However, with 707 horsepower on tap in the earliest models, the Hellcat in the Billie Eilish garage is far from a declawed cat.
Better yet, the post-facelift Challenger model is a throwback to the 1970 Challenger, a classic Mopar mainstay. Undoubtedly the most true-to-form retro muscle car of the 2010s, the Challenger is a fitting companion for the Converse x Billie Eilish collaboration. Think old-school black and white lace-up high tops depressing the go-pedal in a fuel-swilling, asphalt-cracking muscle car. Simply simpatico.
Now, dear reader, Dodge Challengers, on the LC or LA platforms, are a bit tricky to tell apart from a distance. Incidentally, the social media pictures of Eilish’s Dodge Challenger look less like an SRT Hellcat than they do a lower post-facelift trim.
However, Billie Eilish featured the SRT model in the music video for “everything i wanted,” confirming the model’s place in the Hellcat hierarchy. Either way, the Challenger’s retro aesthetic is a match made in heaven with Eilish’s upcoming Converse shoes.
