Chevy has been slowly giving us info about its upcoming 2023 Blazer SS EV SUV and the 2023 Equinox EV SUV. These two, along with the new Chevy Sierra EV pickup truck are some of the most exciting Chevys to come to market in several years. But, they’re not here yet. The Equinox is expected in late 2022, while Chevy says the new Blazer will be here in 2023. Beyond that, what can we expect from these two new Chevy EV SUVs?

The first details of the new Blazer Chevy EV SUV have been released

The 2024 Chevrolet Blazer SS EV will be fully revealed on July 18, but we do know some about the SUV today. The midsize SUV will sit on the new Ultium platform that General Motors shares with Honda for its EVs. This skateboard-like platform can hold one or two motors, and be configured as a two- or all-wheel drive. But we now know that it will look like a traditional SUV, more like a differently-sculped version of the current Blazer. The image of this Chevy EV SUV released clearly has an SS badge on the front, and it has some low-profile tires, which only hints at what kind of performance this SUV could be hiding. Will will learn more on July 18 about the new Chevy Blazer EV SUV.

The 2023 Equinox, too, will be built on the Ultium platform, it’s just a bit smaller. GM’s Ultium platform allows designers to stack the batteries either horizontally or vertically, depending on the vehicle’s shape. Unlike the Blazer, the Equinox looks more “electric,” with a super-smooth shape and lighting that emphasizes its electric underpinnings. The Equinox will be a five-door with a clamshell rear opening. The interior has two large screens, one in the gauge cluster and one for the infotainment system. Chevy says the Equinox will start at about $30,000 in the U.S. and come in LT and RS trims.

The gas-powered Chevy Blazer is getting its first big update since 2019. IT has a new grille with new headlights, and new taillights, and it comes in several new colors. You can order the five-seat Blazer with all-wheel-drive and a new twin-clutch automated transmission. On the inside, the new Blazer will get a new infotainment system, wireless charging, and a wi-fi hotspot optional. It also has offers new driver assistance aids.

Our favorite trim is the RS, which swaps the off-road stance of the regular Blazers for a lowered street-performance look.

The gas-powered Equinox is Chevy’s best-selling SUV.

The 2022 Chevy Equinox is a five-seat SUV that has found its niche in Chevy’s lineup. It has a generous cargo area, at 63.9 cubic feet with the seats folded, and gets good gas mileage for the segment thanks to its 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. The front-wheel-drive version gets 26 mpg in city driving, and 31 on the highway. All-wheel-drive versions pay a 1 mpg penalty. The 2023 Equinox will stay mostly the same. The Equinox saw a refresh in 2022 with a new front end and the addition of the RS trim.
