Bold 2025 Ford Bronco Sport Upgrades Include Hybrid Power
It might be time to reconsider the Ford Bronco Sport. Sure, it might be the Baby Bronco or considered to be an Escape in an Otterbox. However, the Ford Bronco Sport has true off-roading chops to celebrate. Plus, the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport gets a midcycle refresh, so this SUV is sticking around for a while.
What to expect with the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport
Rumors and spy shots suggest that the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport is getting a mid-cycle refresh. This includes revised styling.
The new Bronco Sport could get a more confident and boxier style to look more closely related to its bigger brother, the regular Bronco.
It’s safe to expect a new grille design that’s larger and bolder, revamped LED lights, and front bumper tweaks. The rear end could get a new bumper and taillights as well. Plus, there will probably be new wheel designs and unique shades of paint.
The Badlands model is currently the most capable off-road oriented trim. However, spy photos caught a Bronco Sport model wearing camouflage and riding on a new type of chunky all-terrain tires.
This may indicate that a new off-roading trim or special edition model is on the horizon. There are two off-roading models slotted above the regular Badlands Bronco trim.
Also, the interior will be revised to include higher-quality materials and a modern layout. Spy shots suggest that the Bronco Sport will get the 13.2-inch infotainment screen from the Escape and Mustang.
We wouldn’t be surprised if the Bronco Sport gets a 360-degree camera, updated digital gauge cluster, and faster wireless charging pad too.
Is the Bronco Sport Hybrid coming out?
Even though mid-cycle refreshes typically don’t include engine updates, rumors indicate that the 2024 Ford Bronco Sport Hybrid could be on the horizon.
Perhaps Ford figured out how to pair the Escape AWD system with the available hybrid engine. One of the biggest complaints about the Maverick is the fact that you can’t pair the hybrid engine with AWD.
But the Maverick is expected to be refreshed by 2025, like the Bronco Sport. Both vehicles share engines and the same platform with the Escape.
Anyways, the Escape Hybrid pairs the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor and a battery pack to generate 200 hp and 155 lb-ft of torque. The Escape PHEV uses two electric motors and cranks out 210 hp.
If hybrid rumors are in the works, then it’s not too crazy to consider the Bronco Sport PHEV as well. Fans have already been wanting the Maverick PHEV to arrive.
Stay tuned as we continue tracking the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport for updates.
