Ferrari took a big hit in China today, with a recall affecting 2,222 cars due to a potential fault in the braking system. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen advanced braking systems get recalled over the past few years.

According to WTVB.com, as with all recalls, Ferrari announced that starting May 30, 2022, it will begin recalling cars built and imported from March 2010 to March 2019. Although typical recalls from larger manufacturers affect tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of cars, the nine-year window for this Ferrari recall only affects 2,222 cars. This represents a major figure for smaller, high-end companies like Ferrari despite the seemingly small number.

The breakdown of models affected by the recall is 458 of each of the Italia, Speciale, and Spider models, said the State Administration for Market Regulation. 

So far, there is little information detailing the potential braking issues and the reason for the delayed recall. However, this story is still developing. Stay tuned for more updates.
