Broken $2 Million Lamborghini Miura SV Gets Stolen in Brazil
The Lamborghini Miura is, without a doubt, one of the most important vehicles ever created. Aside from being stylish, lightweight, and powerful, the Miura’s mid-engine layout gave birth to the modern supercars we have today. The SV model takes things even further by being a special edition of what is already a very special car.
As a result, John Temerian from Curated TV on YouTube reportedly attempted to buy a broken Miura SV out of Brazil and found himself in a terrifying situation.
How does a Lamborghini Miura SV end up in pieces?
To understand this Lamborghini Miura SV story, we have to look at John Temerian, the person telling it on YouTube. John owns a dealership named Curated in Miami, FL, which specializes in vintage supercars. When John got a call from a trusted collector that there was a Lamborghini Miura SV in Brazil, he had to investigate.
Upon conducting his initial research, John found that the Miura SV in question was in very poor condition. However, given its rare Argento Indianapolis exterior color and just 10,000 original miles, it was worth the hunt. As a result, John and the seller negotiated before seeing the car, settling on a figure around $2 million.
Following the initial discussions, John sent someone to look at the Lamborghini Miura SV. Upon arriving, the person who inspected the car noted that it was completely torn apart and was literally in pieces. The bodywork had all of its paint stripped off. Additionally, the interior was torn and looked almost flood-damaged.
According to John, the Miura SV sold brand-new in Portugal to a lawyer. Eventually, the first owner decided to move to Brazil and import the car into the country. Eventually, the owner decided to strip the paint to do a color swap but never finished. Despite these flaws, John placed a $90,000 deposit to secure the car.

According to John, once he placed the deposit on the Lamborghini Miura SV, his team set about importing it into the U.S. Additionally, a collector contacted John offering to buy the car. As a result, the final hurdle was to have it physically arrive in the United States. However, upon receiving the money, the seller became very distant. According to John, months went by with little to no communication until the seller completely went silent.
To John’s surprise, he learned that the Lamborghini Miura SV was back up for sale in Brazil. After six months of silence, John reportedly received images of the Miura put together in a very sloppy fashion. According to John, the Miura was thrown together to help ship it out of the country quickly. Upon learning this, John threatened legal action against the seller. Thankfully, this resulted in John receiving his initial deposit back.
How did the Miura SV get stolen?
It should come as no surprise that the Lamborghini Miura SV eventually sold after John reportedly pulled out of the deal. However, according to John, he managed to contact the car’s new owner in Italy. At this point, John reportedly learns that the initial seller stole the car out of the shipping yard in Brazil after receiving payment from this new buyer. Thankfully, private investigators tracked down the shady seller and eventually secured the car. As John tells it, the car is somewhere in Italy, likely fully restored to show-car condition.
