Getting a 2021 Chevrolet Corvette is currently next to impossible in the U.S. As a result, when one of these brand-new Corvettes gets totaled, it truly stings. That’s exactly what happened to one unknown owner. From the images, we can clearly see that the sports car fell from a mechanic’s lift during a service.

According to Corvette Forum via GM Authority, the Rapid Blue sports car fell from a lift in an undisclosed location. However, thanks to the images provided by user Vman21C8, we can see that the damage is quite extensive. Surprisingly, this isn’t the first time this happens.

This isn’t the first time a 2021 Chevrolet Corvette falls

Before we dive into this newest destroyed 2021 Chevrolet Corvette story, it is worth revisiting a similar event that occurred in 2020. According to GM Authority, a Torch Red C8 fell from a lift last year at a Florida dealership. This incident took place at a local dealership as mechanics serviced the sports car.

The owner of this 2021 Chevrolet Corvette took to Instagram to speak about the situation, noting that the dealership did not lift the car from the proper lifting points. As a result, it seems one of the mechanics might have assumed the C8 can be lifted like any other car.

As you can see from the photos, this particular Chevrolet Corvette was damaged beyond repair. Thankfully, the dealership stepped up and took care of the owner. However, the owner decided not to order a brand-new C8.

How did this sports car fall again?

Flash forward to today, and we’ve got another destroyed 2021 Chevrolet Corvette. Unlike the previous incident, we have hardly any information regarding this new car. In fact, we only know of this incident thanks to two photos posted on Corvette Forum. However, these photos are worth a thousand words.

If you look closely at the image of the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette above, you’ll notice a few things. For starters, the rear engine cover is wide open, and the car’s metal under-pan is on the floor. As a result of these details, a mechanic was likely Rapid Blue servicing this C8 just like the Torch Red car covered earlier. However, it remains unclear if this is a dealership or a third-party workshop.

We do know at least that both sports cars fell from two-post lifts. As a result, we’d take an educated guess that the mechanic did not use the proper lifting points. However, we won’t know until more details emerge.

What will happen to this Corvette?

By looking at the damage on this 2021 Chevrolet Corvette, we’d assume its destroyed fate is sealed. From the second image posted above, we clearly see extensive damage to the car’s door and rear quarter panel. However, there is likely plenty of damage we cannot see to the car’s frame and powertrain. Since the lift’s posts likely dug into the car, this sports car is likely totaled.

Since this car will likely end up at an insurance company auction, we hope the owner of this car gets taken care of by the shop that destroyed their car.
