The Bugatti Veyron was produced from 2006 to 2015 before the Chiron replaced it. Despite its decade-long discontinuation, anyone remotely into cars likely remembers the Veyron. It was a hypercar capable of going 253 mph thanks to its massive 16-cylinder engine and four turbochargers. It also retailed for $1.25 million when it came out. But how much does a Bugatti Veyron cost in 2023? Here’s a break down of what the Bugatti Veyron price would look like if you were to try and snag one on the used market.

The Bugatti Veyron didn’t depreciate in value over the years

Depreciation tends to hit luxury and sports cars hard as time goes on, but that doesn’t ring true for the almighty Bugatti Veyron. According to Luxe Digital, the Veyron is currently valued at $1.9 million. That seems like a fair assessment, considering we found Veyrons selling for exactly that price on Autotrader.

Don’t worry; if you don’t have the cash for one, you can finance one for five years to the tune of around $30,000 a month – chump change for any very well-heeled buyers. Trust us, you definitely need deep pockets to own one of these amazing cars.

How much does it cost to own a Bugatti Veyron?

Buying a used Bugatti Veyron is one thing, but paying to own one is another ball game. Unfortunately, the Veyron is not the typical car you can take to your local auto shop and get an oil change for $29.95. Road Test Reviews broke down the typical buying and running costs when choosing a Bugatti Veyron as your weekend driver:

  • Bugatti used to ask for a down payment of $350,000 when the Veyron was being sold as new. We wouldn’t be surprised if a bank would ask the same if you want to finance a used one.
  • Although insurance rates can vary, most insurance companies will cover the Veyron for around $2,500 to $3,800 per month. That’s over $30,000 a year.
  • The Bugatti Veyron has 1,001 hp and drinks gas at a rate of 8 mpg in the city and 13 mpg in highway driving. Its gas tank holds 26.4 gallons of gas, and the national price for a gallon is $4. That means it will cost around $105.60 to fill up every time, and that gas will be used up very quickly. We hope you have a gas card with plenty of rewards.
  • The routine annual maintenance for a Veyron costs $20,000, detailing services cost $10,000, and wheel and tire replacement costs $50,000.

It may be expensive to own, but the Bugatti Veyron is still quite the performer

It’s no secret that a used Bugatti Veyron costs a near fortune to buy and own, but it’s worth if you have millions of dollars to burn. Reiterating the car’s phenomenal specs, a quad-turbocharged W16 engine that produces 1,001 hp and 922 lb-ft of torque powers the Veyron.

According to Car and Driver, it’s capable of reaching 60 mph from a stop in only 2.5 seconds and can complete a quarter-mile in 10.1 seconds. Best of all, the Veyron can reach a top speed of 253 mph, which is one of the reasons it’s one of the most lusted-after hypercars. It’s too bad it costs way too much for us mere mortals.
