Bulletproof Luxury: Armored Rolls-Royce Cullinan From Klassen Is Almost $1 Million
Sure, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan is pretty cool on its own as a luxury SUV. However, is there a way to make the Cullinan even better? Klassen did just that by making the luxury SUV armored. What does making an armored vehicle entail?
The armored Klassen Rolls-Royce Cullinan is still a luxury SUV
The Rolls-Royce Cullinan is kind of a perfect luxury SUV already. With tons of room in the back to relax while getting chauffeured around, hand-installed fiber-optic stars on the headliner, and doors that open ready for the red carpet, what else could it need? Klassen decided it needed to be armored.
It seems there are two types of buyers for a vehicle like this—celebrities like Beyoncé and Jay-Z and anonymous billionaires. Beyoncé and Jay-Z don’t necessarily need bulletproof windows and doors, but you never know these days. For billionaires and business people who might actually need protection from explosions and bullets, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan fits the bill.
What makes the Rolls-Royce Cullinan safer than the regular version?
From the outside, the Klassen Rolls-Royce Cullinan looks like any other Cullinan. But that’s precisely the point. Klassen stretched the regular Cullinan by an extra 350 mm in between the front and rear door. This included extending the brake line, exhaust system, and feed line. It also adopted a stereo camera for armored glass.
The ballistic protection includes armored steel on the perimeter, floor, and roof. There is blast-resistant construction on the doors by adding armored frames. Klassen added new hinges to work with the increased door weight.
The company added a bulletproof windshield and armored glass in the partition, plus all-new armored glass around the perimeter of the luxury vehicle. The chassis also received reinforced shock absorbers, springs, and suspension arms to compensate for the additional weight. Klassen added emergency exits in the side and rear window of the Cullinan, plus firefighting systems, just in case. These evacuation systems on the Rolls-Royce Cullinan work without a power supply, even if the vehicle is upside down.
The luxury SUV recieved a certificate of armoring compliance
The Klassen Rolls-Royce Cullinan received a certificate of armoring compliance of level VR 6. It offers 360-degree explosion resistance in the armored capsule of the luxury SUV. The roof and ceiling can withstand the blast of DM51 hand-grenades, while the bulletproof glass can keep passengers safe from high-powered rifles.
The Rolls-Royce Cullinan starts at around $500,000 without any of these upgrades. With the specialized upgrades from Klassen, the Cullinan will cost you approximately $963,801. Almost a cool one million for the safest luxury SUV around. You can order one directly from Klassen for now, as it isn’t likely that many of these will be made without a special order.
