We all love our doggies. And we sometimes like to bring them with us in the car; maybe even most of the time. Now Toyota has done something to help out dog lovers who like taking trips with their canine companions. It has created the cleverly named “Dog Van.” That’s right, it’s just the Dog Van. 

A Japanese company makes a line of dog accessories featured in the Dog Van

If you live in Japan, you can outfit a Toyota HiAce van to accommodate your furry friends with accessories from a company called Flex. Modular beds are available with adjustable heights and sizes to match your dog’s cage. If you don’t use a cage there are also mats for your dog to lay down on in the cargo area of the van. 

Because the second row of seats dips to the floor there is an extender that carries the floor forward to just behind the front seats. There is also another extension that covers the console so your dog can ride between the two front seats. Padding is available to soften up the floor and some other areas inside of the HiAce.

Cargo mats fitted to the van feature a non-slip finish, and are antibacterial and odor-fighting. Not that any of our dogs smell funny. Window screens allow outside air in without the dog sticking its snout out the window. If that’s not enough airflow there are auxiliary fans that can be aimed right at your mut. 

On the outside Flex, the company that manufacturers the doggie stuff, makes upgrades for the HiAce as well. It has front spoilers, fender covers, and an auxiliary corner mirror. The HiAce is a popular choice for customizers who can get pretty extreme with the components available. 

Unfortunately, the Toyota HiAce is not available in the US

Now, while we are touting the pet-related products for the HiAce, we regret that it is not available in the US. However, there are plenty of dog accessory companies here that make similar stuff. You can use what is shown here to peruse the internet for similar products available here. 

When it comes to taking the pooch out for a car cruise, or to the vet, we mostly make do with what we have lying around the house. So it is news to at least some of us dog owners, that so many car accessories are available. After all, nothing is too much or too good for our pets.
