The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is a midsize SUV that takes the award-winning Grand Cherokee and adds a plug-in hybrid drivetrain to the mix. The 2023 Grand Cherokee 4xe starts at around $60,260 for the base model, $64,960 for the 30th Anniversary Edition, $65,655 for the Trailhark model, and $68,275 for the Overland model.
The Grand Cherokee 4xe even has a few luxury-focused trim levels as well, including the Summit model which starts at $72,990, and the Summit Reserve which starts at $77,470.
The Grand Cherokee 4xe comes standard with four-wheel drive on every model, as is a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that is capable of producing around 375 horsepower with its dual electric motor setup.
With the 4xe’s electric-only drive mode, a max range of 25 miles can be had, and on its hybrid drivetrain, the 4xe gets around 56 mpg combined. Sadly, when the electric battery is depleted, the Grand Cherokee 4xe is only capable of around 23 mpg combined.

The torque power produced by the hybrid drivetrain makes the four-cylinder engine feel much peppier than typical midsize SUV offerings.
Despite these great improvements over the non-hybrid Grand Cherokee, Car, and Driver doesn’t recommend the 4xe due to its high price, which starts at $16,830 over the base V6 model.
