What was unique about Carroll Shelby’s Super Snake, CSX 3015?

CSX 3015 was one of a pair of Cobra Super Snakes boasting a twin-supercharged 427-cubic inch V8. The stunning roadster belonged to Shelby, and with around 800 horsepower, it was a fitting ride for the Le Mans winner. CSX 3015 sold at auction for $5 million in 2021.

The second model, CSX 3303, belonged to Bill Cosby before being sold to another owner. Unfortunately, the driver crashed the doomed Cobra, killing him and destroying the car.

How many Shelby Mustangs did Carroll Shelby own?

Carroll Shelby owned many of his classic namesake Mustangs, including a 1966 GT350 Convertible, 1968 GT350 Coupe, and 1969 GT500. According to Road & Track, all three of those Shelby Mustangs headed to auction in 2018, six years after Shelby’s death.

A 1987 De Tomaso Pantera GT5-S has an average value of around $226,240. The later model Pantera is busier than the older GTS, with a prominent wing and more dramatic styling. Of course, Shelby’s personal Pantera is no ordinary model; his GT5-S sold for $226,240.

How much horsepower does a 2012 GT500 Super Snake have?

The 2012 GT500 Super Snake produces a stratospheric 800 horsepower, around 250 more than the GT500 from the factory. In the case of Shelby’s personal 2012 GT500 Super Snake, the pony car produced around 750 ponies.

In addition to the 2012 model, Shelby also owned a 2008 GT500KR. That car also headed to auction after his death.

What was the last Carroll Shelby car?

The last vehicle that Shelby had a hand in producing was the 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. The swan-song Mustang could hit 60 mph in 3.6 seconds on its way to a top speed of over 200 mph, all courtesy of a savagely supercharged 662-horsepower V8.
