It’s no surprise that Carroll Shelby loved cars. He dedicated the better part of his life to creating some of the most iconic American cars in history. As a result, Carroll Shelby’s car collection throughout the years is impressive; it’s a slew of custom American cars and even the occasional De Tomaso Pantera. What was unique about Carroll Shelby’s Super Snake, CSX 3015?
CSX 3015 was one of a pair of Cobra Super Snakes boasting a twin-supercharged 427-cubic inch V8. The stunning roadster belonged to Shelby, and with around 800 horsepower, it was a fitting ride for the Le Mans winner. CSX 3015 sold at auction for $5 million in 2021.
The second model, CSX 3303, belonged to Bill Cosby before being sold to another owner. Unfortunately, the driver crashed the doomed Cobra, killing him and destroying the car.
How many Shelby Mustangs did Carroll Shelby own?
Carroll Shelby owned many of his classic namesake Mustangs, including a 1966 GT350 Convertible, 1968 GT350 Coupe, and 1969 GT500. According to Road & Track, all three of those Shelby Mustangs headed to auction in 2018, six years after Shelby’s death.
Moreover, Shelby owned a second 1969 GT500. However, one iteration had an automatic transmission, and the other packed a traditional manual setup.

A 1983 De Tomaso Pantera GTS packed a 351 Cleveland V8 engine and a five-speed manual ZF transmission. Shelby’s personal 1983 Pantera was a gift from Alejandro de Tomaso, per Daniel Schmitt & Co.

In addition to the 2012 model, Shelby also owned a 2008 GT500KR. That car also headed to auction after his death.

The last vehicle that Shelby had a hand in producing was the 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. The swan-song Mustang could hit 60 mph in 3.6 seconds on its way to a top speed of over 200 mph, all courtesy of a savagely supercharged 662-horsepower V8.
